The Cleveland Indians Just Picked Their New Name
The team has been known as the Cleveland Indians since 1915, but after months of internal discussions … they have finally settled on their new name — the Guardians.
So they erased over 100 years of history.
Well, they SURE are not GUARDIANS of their past!
In 2018, the team decided to stop using the Chief Wahoo logo, which has long offended many Indigenous people and allies alike, on its jerseys and caps.
Yet the vast MAJORITY of Indigenous people LOVED the name and the logo.
It is only the very few and extremely loud who WANTED to erase Indigenous from pop-culture and sports.
