The Most Important Line in Star Wars

Some may see this line as referring to some sort of mystical force ghosts, or that it is some supernatural Jedi power…

It may be George Lucas’ biggest contribution to language. The idea itself may or may not have existed prior to Star Wars,

but everybody today knows this line. Never has it been more important to remember.

    And also remember… “You can’t win Darth…”

    if-you-strike-turht6

Cancelling. De-personing. Discrediting. The fear of it must subside.

(Consider what they will do with the Obiwan Series and why, we know, but once again, no amount of discrediting can take away the IDEA

    of this line).

“The more you tighten your grip, the more systems will slip through your fingers.”

Whenever someone is cancelled, there is a reason, and it isn’t the reason they say they are cancelling, it is obvious. It is because they are either

standing up against something, or they ‘might’ stand against something, or they are perceived to be standing against something, or they might

have the power to stand up to something.

Every time someone is cancelled, simply post the meme. Recall the idea.

Striking down Dr. Who, Luke Skywalker, Sarah Connor, Batman, Captain America, whomever… won’t strike them down, in fact,

no matter what they attempt to do, it’s not over. Not yet.

They will attempt to Strike Down Obiwan Kenobi. But remember, “The Force will be with you… always.”

Its a classic idea for sure. NPCs hate it.

“indeed you are powerful as the emperor has foreseen” – it was at this moment Vader knew, he’d fucked up.

I’ve said in other threads, Vader stone cold realises Luke ain’t no punk ass kid no more.

“I’ll never turn to the dark side. You’ve failed, your highness. I am a Jedi, like my father before me.” — Luke Skywalker

Reminds us we aren’t ‘special’ on our own (like the WOKE/SJW/BlueCheck culture would like)
We stand on the shoulders of giants, on the shoulders of those who have taught us: teachers, family, friends, scholars, artists …
Those before us aren’t some buffoons to be ignored as blue-titty milk drinkers

They are the ones we draw our values from
And our wisdom as we grow older

They are the ones who made us the strong ladies or gents we are now
    the JEDIs of real life

    IF
We are wise enough to have learned from their life example

That’s why you failed Rian Johnson in your corrupted vision of Luke

    Close second is:

“Do. Or do not. There is no try.” — Yoda
    No explanation needed (Yoda rocks!)

    Honorable mention:

“Why, you stuck-up, half-witted, scruffy-looking nerf herder!” — Leia Organa
Cuz it’s from my rolemodel ♥ Leia ♥ & talks about ♥ Han ♥ the sexiest bad boy in a Galaxy Far Far Away

    “I got a BAD feeling about this…”

    By literally everyone.

Also, the only salvageable apport from The Last Jedi:

“We are what they grow beyond of. That is the burden of all Masters” Master Yoda.

I have the High Ground!  It’s over!

That line right there has so much meaning.  Not just in the battle sense how it is seen in the movies.

The High Ground should never be squandered or taken for granted.

Do. Or do not. There is no try.  Another favorite of mine.

Since you have already expressed all my favorite quotes here.  This is all I have left.

As an older person this is very fitting for me.

“When 900 years old you reach, look this good you will not”

Sometimes I feel that old, but look good I must!  haha

I love you…. I  know.   Just leaves us sappy girls wondering if she’ll ever see Han again.  Plus Harrison came up with that line… not George.

      I know.

”You can’t win, Darth. If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.” — Obi-Wan Kenobi

Not my favorite, but I do like that line, not just because Obi-Wan becomes nigh-omnipresent as a force ghost a.k.a. ”more powerful than you could possibly imagine”, but also because of its meaning, from a certain point of view.

Kenobi giving his own life in order to save someone else showed Luke the true meaning of sacrifice.

He became a symbol for others to follow, and in his deathObi-Wan ignited a spark, a new hope.

It’s a toss between “I am a Jedi, like my father before me” and “You were right about me. Tell your sister… You were right.”

For me, some of the lines from the films are great…however…I would be lying if I wasn’t including an important quote from the games themselves.  Most notably…from a Sith.  But before I get to that… here are some of the ones that stood out to me.

“Look at me.  Judge me by my size do you? Hm?  And well you should not”. – Yoda

      [Appearances can be deceptive].

“Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny” – Yoda

[Sometimes the easy way is actually the road to ruin]

(I know most would bring up the most obvious Yoda quotes but I think others are easily overlooked in my opinion).

“You will find that many of the truths that we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view” – Obi-Wan

(I don’t know if this is underrated or overrated but I always found this one compelling somehow).

“May the Force be with You” (A classic).

Now…that out of the way…here’s a particular quote from probably my favorite Sith in the Old Republic: Darth Marr.  (Those who have played TOR: KotFE would know exactly what I am talking about).

“Forget what your old masters taught you. Not even Valkorion understands. The force is not an ally, slave, or transaction.  The Force is a paradox, it empowers and imprisons. It destroys and unites. It binds the galaxy together and tears people apart. It has a will… but needs a commander.  The will of the force is a flowing current. You can follow or fight it, but it is always there”.

(If that is not enlightening, then I don’t know what is).

I think that the most important line may be one that no-one says but that really sums up Star Wars:

“A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…”
