A search does not bring up anything with The Witcher in the actual title. Where it’s the games, the Netflix show, the anime or other things, freel free to share “All Things Witcher” right here, if you please.

THE WITCHER Season 2 Trailer (2021)
    ONE Media

Showrunner Lauren Schmidt said season two will take more material from The Last Wish and The Sword of Destiny, which are short stories set before the Witcher saga, as well as Blood of Elves, which is the first book in the saga.

“A lot of what we’ve set up in season one will come into play in season two,” Lauren told the Radio Times. “We will get into some stuff from Blood of Elves. But I also think there are things that we wanted to adapt from The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny that we didn’t have time to do.”

Lauren continued: “So to be blessed with a season two, and to know that we can go back and revisit some of those things, is really exciting. There will be a big mix of things.”

Meanwhile, the official Netflix logline reads: “Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”

Haven’t been able to watch it as I don’t have NetFlix but I’ve been reading the books which I’ve been liking so far😊. I finished reading ‘Baptism of Fire’ a while back but I’ve been reading other stuff so I’ve not been able to carry on for a while.

@DragonLady Thanks for the comment. I had the exact same experience that you did. Read two or three of the books. I did think Andrzej Sapkowski had some kind of unique, signature style of language overall.

Agree about Netflix. I do NOT have it nor do I watch much anymore. The only reason I managed to see it was at a friend’s place. Binged watched it and it was fine. Solid series.

I’ve got it pre-installed on some devices but I’ve never used it. I know a few people who have NetFlix but I’m not sure I can afford it. Same with Disney+. There’s a lot of stuff I want to watch on NetFlix and a few things I want to watch on Disney+ but I’m not sure if they’re going to be out on dvd or Blue-Ray here in the UK. Sometimes we’re a bit lousy in that department🙄…

Anyway, hopefully with the fact that I’ve got Amazon Kindle I can finally carry on reading the books although I’ve got a lot of books to read at the moment as it is😂!

I recall this scene from the books. Only read three of them.

I’m not as hyped as I was for the 1st season… but I will watch it…

Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill) brings Princess Cirilla (Freya Allan) to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen in this exclusive clip from Episode 2 of The Witcher Season 2, premiering December 17 on Netflix.

    so, it’s tomorrow.

I have watched the first two episodes of season two and have enjoyed it. “shrug”. I really liked the tragedy of the cursed man. I know people like Az have bashed it on Friday Night Tights, but I am having a good time so far.

I agree for the most part with what you are saying. I don’t quite understand Az’s rage last night. I’m 6 episodes in, and while I see some of what he’s talking about, I don’t see it on the levels to enrage him. Then again, I’m a borderline normie when it comes to the Witcher having only played the first game, while Az I believe is a more hardcore game fan, so he may see problems I do not.

As a preview to my review video that will probably happen tomorrow, right now the biggest sins of the show as I see it are 1) anything not involving Geralt and Ciri is boring…really boring, 2) still not enough monster killing, 3) still not enough Cavill/Geralt as there should be, 4) pacing and narrative is kinda a mess in the first half of the season, 5) everything surrounding the elves feels agendaish to me.

I’ll of course go into more detail in my review, but over all I don’t hate it, but I wish I liked it more, and I understand already why I don’t like it more.

I binged the 2nd season last night and I liked it a lot. The only issues that I really had was with the last 2 episodes. Maybe I’m the only one or I’m just going crazy, but it seems like the camera quality dipped or it just didn’t feel polished.

I’m not gonna pretend that I’m well versed in the Witcher series, whether books or games, but I’ve read some of the books and played a bit of the games. The series is based off of the books, correct? I did recognize a few nods to the games in there though.

        Thanks for the comments, everyone.

DarthVengeant, agree that episode with the cursed man was a really good episode. I like the scene with the truth-or-drink, knife-throwing contest. Fantasy is not usually my thing, but watching this, I find it disappointing that Dungeons&Dragons or Wheel Of Time could not be on this level. This show with the chaos magic and the girl reminds me of a series by Drew Karpyshyn, who wrote Darth Bane trilogy, called The Chaos Born Trilogy. It was eerie how close the resemblance was.

Also, the difference maker really is Henry Cavill. I kind of took him for granted before and thought he was a great Superman, but when Jeremy just casually said he thinks in another time, Cavill would have been the biggest movie star, once again, Jeremy nails it. It seems like Jeremy says these things off the cuff that make me think. They are just throwaway lines and comments for him, but makes me think, dang, he’s correct. Henry Cavill said he’d like to do Mass Effect or Warhammer. How much time does he have left as a prime actor? If Cavill could only pick one, which should he pick, Mass Effect or Warhammer?

Step inside Kaer Morhen, the legendary home of the witchers, to meet the dysfunctional School of the Wolf brotherhood – including Vesemir, Lambert, Coen, and Eskel – who will be joining Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher Season 2.

Having finished this yesterday and digesting it for a day cuz I had other stuff I had to focus on first, my initial feelings on the season have not really changed. Being totally unfamiliar with the source material, I cannot make any comments based on that, so I’ll just say this.

I still don’t think that there needs to be rage about too much wokeism or intersectionality. What was present in the show was tepid at best and not overly offensive, at least to me. It’s not like Amazon Wheel of Time where every moment is an woke crime on nature.

In the end, unless Cavill was on screen, the show’s biggest sin is that it was….boring and uninteresting. Anything Cavill/Geralt had my attention, everything else had me just waiting for it to be over because the narrative pacing was messy and the plots had a disjointed feeling. If I had a better grasp of the source material (which I am intending to at least fix on the gaming side) I’m sure I’d likely have more criticisms, but since I cannot speak to that I’m simply keeping my focus on the quality of what I saw on the screen in terms of pure interest. I was simply bored most of the season.

There was a comment on one of Gary’s videos that said there is a Polish show called “The Hexer” which is about Geralt. Show was done 20 years ago. It is out there on some sites, The Hexer.

Hollywood elites do not understand that you have to please the fans, not antagonize them. The fail to realize we want good story telling, not agenda nonsense, and they are totally baffled by this.
