Toxic Fandom Menace

      It is with much sorrow that I have decided to leave Geeks and Gamers and the fandom menace.  Things have gotten a bit too toxic for me.  The videos and live streams used to be good and personal, but now things have swung too far the other direction. Things are getting downright toxic.  Ryan Kinel seems to think he is an authority on things when in reality, he knows next to nothing about what he talks about.  All of these YouTube channels do this.  Maybe it is just the entire internet.  People who don’t really have credentials or knowledge are constantly running their mouths about things they know nothing about.  They have taken complex issues and dumbed them all down into 5 minute soundbites.  It is all stupid.  It is the height of ignorance too.

      I once wrote a paper in college about how people with like mental states find each other.  Nothing can be more true with the internet.  People with negative personalities find each other and fester in their anger and insanity.  These are not people I would choose to spend my valuable time in the real world with, so why should I give them my time by watching their videos.

      The sad part is I see this all getting worse.  More people will isolate themselves in their homes and behind a keyboard.  They will have no real life experience, but become experts online.  Maybe it is just America because other places in this world are not as insane as here.  Maybe it is all just the current state of our politics.  It is all garbage. Both parties.  All candidates.  None represent the people.  Trust me, as you get older, all of you will find out that politics in general is just a bunch of lying people with agendas and none of it will benefit your own personal life.

      Anyhow, my advice to all is leave the online world.  Go make a life. Life is way too short to be giving your valuable time to all this bullshit we watch daily.

        From what i’m reading it seems like you’re calling the people of the Fandom Menace toxic for expressing their political opinion, and isn’t that a really toxic SJW move? I personally couldn’t care less about politics (and also agree with you that 99% of politicians are agenda driven bull shit artist), but i’m not gonna have any beef with someone for liking a particular candidate or suporting a political party, just like time and time again many Fandom Menace youtubers have said in their videos that they’ll respect other people’s political opinions even if they don’t align with their own, i don’t see how respecting other people’s beliefs and wanting respect for your own beliefs is toxic

        Anyhow, my advice to all is leave the online world.  Go make a life. Life is way too short to be giving your valuable time to all this bullshit we watch daily.

        Also you forget that in the past 2 years most of us didn’t have a choice but to spend time in the online world

          That is too bad, because I enjoy your posts, OP. Didn’t Ryan say he served in Navy for over 10 years? Is that not real life experience? The whole GnG crew posts videos from the real world all the time. They have a group of friends. They do activities. They throw events. Ryan actually drove across the country and met fans in every market that made a small group quota. They just put out a video of them at the range, shooting targets. As a viewer, I really enjoy their content and they look like they are out there, living good lives.

              I kind of understand what are you talking about the “negativity” and the impact on one psyche, I liked watching youtube videos because there were funny or entertaining but nowadays is all about politics, but you need to understand we “geeks” and also “gamers” got caught on this cultural war, I’m not a warrior like Jeremy, Ryan and Rippa they have the courage to stay put and hold the line.

              I think It’s okay to forfeit If we aren’t strong enough but let them continue fighting against these odds, after all they’re fighting against an entire political faction, that seems to have most the media apparatus under their palm, remember President Trump couldn’t succeed and he’s a powerful individual.

              Both political parties are garbage but right now the Left is destroying America and other parts of the world with this divisive woke Ideology, time after time they’ve proven who are the real racist and fascists, the extremist on either side should not be the ones leading a country or a faction.

              Just like Blood.Ranger and many others I have put my bets on G+G and people who share a similar ideology.

              Just a final thought maybe after the wheel turns and the wokes are defeated then the real extremists on the right will seize power.

                I get 100% where you are, I unfollowed al but Jay, If I want political talk there is plenty of that from other channels. I also did it because I am so sick and tired of them looking for “Woke or Activism” in everything, which goes right back to politics. They have become what they claim to hate, only on the opposite side—-_sound familiar_ <democrat v republican?

                And they are also ALL echo-chambers to each other, seriously One does a video the rest do as well, again; sound familiar_ <CNN, MSDNC vs FOX>

                I will always appreciate honest revues of movies, (Drinker) I still am following does this. It is content I can appreciate but when he even starts talking woke activism in trailers I just stop watching.

                You want to make good content, Make content there is no way anyone could tell your politics or the show/game/ magazine your political leanings or social biases. Give an honest review based on its strengths and weakness’s. That is what I wan and many others, I know I have talked to other who are so sick of it.

                It is NOT the Fandom Menace, that is long gone this is now just Democrat v Republican  garbage content, I do not think they know it or maybe they do and are purely catering to that side of the political base. Which if that is true then, they truly are and have become that which they once hated, perhaps worse as they are doing that for pure profit and content.

                Honestly, when was the last time any of them gave an honest review good and bad points without saying or hinting  the (Agenda) ????? Ask yourself the last time you could not tell the creators political leanings by that content you just watched?

                  I do not at all have a dog in this fight.  But much of what you are seeing is no different than what the news does.  They print articles and topics that get the clicks.  Often times this will be “hate” clicks.  People will click something quicker/more often when it evokes an emotion from them so to make the most revenue you often times pick the most inflammatory topics. At this point it is part of the online ad revenue business model I feel.
