Well not sure I would blame the political party. The republicans are in this as much as the Democrats are, the uniparty and all. Could we blame conservatives at the time? Maybe. But the monopoly formed in the Frisco bubble in silence so it would have been hard to see it coming.
But you are right, the real issue is not 1 platform but the monopoly of the platforms together working in unison. Add Hollywood to that and you have some strong programming going on affecting those weak of will and thought. Which is why it hits the young so hard.
But in all honesty none of this is new. It has simply evolved. That programming stuff has been going on through movies and TV since at least the 80’s. I can recall oddly placed messages in movies and TV at the time that did not make sense to me then and looking back I can see them for what they were, propaganda.
For example, a movie from ’87 called “Hiding Out”. Pretty funny movie, I still watch it. It’s about an adult hiding out in a high school. There is one moment (and it does seem oddly placed) where he is in biology class and they run the scene long enough so the biology teacher has the chance to say “sex is a spectrum, everyone has had gay thoughts”. So that stuff has been there for decades, it’s just gotten worse.
