Boy howdy, let’s see. 3 vodkas in, working on my 4th. This was already planned before my shift ended tonight, so it’s not directly related to what’s gonna (possibly) change in the next 5 minutes with Elon’s poll.
Born in 1988. Missed out on the best parties, concerts, and cultures, just by a bit. What I don’t get, is that I’ve been doing everything to preserve my world. I liked my bubble. I like the shows, music, humor, games, that I was able to grow up with. I’ve never been entirely Conservative, and I’ve never been entirely Liberal either. Voted Rep. the 1st time I was legally able to vote. Voted 3rd party a couple times after than, and then Dem. once. Still trying to keep a Centrist head during all this political and social change going on. What I really, REALLY, don’t understand is alotta Left agenda is to alter the world so heavily, and the Right wants to halt it, to some extent, but I’m not seeing alotta convincing push back.
Got into an argument with a very Liberal friend of mine recently, and I realized that as Moderate as I try to be, the Conservative side is making a much more convincing case these days. I found the Trump phase of politics highly annoying, but at least that administration’s idea of things didn’t involve telling me how to think, talk, what to watch, do, and enjoy. I don’t blame Trump’s run directly for this insane wave of Wokeness, but his presence REALLY brought that whole fucking crowd outta the woodwork. At least from my window, I saw that Trump winning the presidency actually backfired socially. Even during Obama’s presidency, which I voted against twice, I didn’t see as a direct threat to my comfort and sanity. Except Obamacare, fucking hell.
Even if Conservatives don’t have a grand plan to improve anything, at least they’re not trying to make my life worse. My Twitter interactions are primarily gaming oriented, but I found it real hard to stay out of political spats with other people on there. Was probably bound to happen.
Elon’s wishy washy policies were a lot better than it being so one sided like it was. When he made a couple oddball choices, I was wondering if he was trying to fuck up Twitter to the point where nobody could, or would want to use it. That could do wonders for the political and social bickering we’ve all been seeing, or involved in. Imagine Twitter just shutting down. Would be alotta lost folks, but it might make the world a little more quiet, for a bit at least.
I’m a little concerned where this does go from here. The Woke crowd is trying to alter my world and life. I’ve never done anything to them. I’ve never tried to change their world because I’m putting alotta effort into preserving my own. I just want to spend whatever time I have left being in a Mid 90s-Early 2000s bubble, and it really appears that the only place to find some level of comfort in all this recent bs is my own little gamer cave, in my apartment. A little bummed out that anything outside of that, in media, or the direct world, is really going against my efforts.
Anywho. If you stuck around and made any sense of the rambling, good on you. I’m just so socially and mentally beat. I watched alotta Jeremy’s content for the better part of this year. It took awhile before I realized I should probably sign up and join in this circus, because the one out there is just trying to eat itself alive.
I’m certainly here for more of the gaming aspect of things, but like Twitter, it’s gonna be hard to pass up a political or social opinion along the way. Unlike Twitter, I don’t foresee a huge issue evolving from that. It was a bit awkward to see that as strong a following as G+G has, that the forums weren’t getting a whole lot of activity when I signed up last week. Would be encouraging to see something spark up, and maybe if Twitter gets worse after Musk steps down, this might be a better haven.
