If I put on my thinking into the future hat, where I try to see the chess pieces moves ahead I see this.
EVERYTHING being done now is coordinated at multiple levels. Although, I have no doubt many in the mid levels of power are just getting theirs and they don’t care what they are told to do, hand them the cash and they will say it or do it.
So where is this all going?
1) farmers and others will lose their properties due to regulation and pricing (think Blackrock buying all the properties so that no one can own a home)
2) “mega cities” will be built one by one on this newly “acquired” land in different countries
3) at first you won’t be forced to move into one, they will just make things so bad and expensive to live it will become attractive to do so
4) anyone not voluntarily living in a mega city trying to escape violent crime and insane costs of living will be forced too
5) now everyone lives in a pod, eats the bugs and has to obey their new overlords because if you don’t you get kicked out into the wasteland
So we end up with a combination of Judge Dredd and Demolition Man.
