When censorship is legalized, what will you do?

So anyone in Turkey can now be jailed up to 3 years for spreading disinformation that disturbs the peace. Of course they failed to define precisely what “disinformation/misinformation” is so the fear is that it will be used to silence the media and opposition voices.

The question is as this type of legislation creeps into societies throughout the world what will you do? Will you tone down your rhetoric or become silent for fear of being targeted? Will you say “f#(& that” and continue as you always have? Or will you have to find “creative ways” e.g. talking in “code” to get your message across? And who is to say such “code” wouldn’t be considered illegal as well.

Methinks if things continue along this trajectory there’s only one way this ends.

I’ve never seen “V” for Vendetta, guess I’ll have to give it a look.

“V for Vendetta” is an amazing movie.  Ironically it was supposed to warn everyone what would happen if the conservatives took over.  But that’s not what happened and they (the leftists) ended up telling on themselves predicting what it is they themselves would do.  But like “1984” it predicted the future.

Now as to to your original question.  I can tell you what most folks will do when faced with such a law.  They will comply.  I know this because it already happens with just social pressure here in the US.

Wait until you need a social credit score and or mark of the SJW/chip in your body to do anything.

Ohh yes, it’s coming. The speed and idiocy of how things have changed in just the last 10 years should tell you something, and be a warning to you for what it is to come.  Imagine reading this as a headline 15 years ago, you wouldn’t believe it would you? But, now it doesn’t surprise you does it?

“And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, and he provides that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name.” –Revelation 13

I’ve yet to see ‘V For Vendetta’ but as Netflix keeps recommending me it I’m going to watch it near the time. Meaning that I’m going to watch it around about 5th November😁.

It is a GREAT movie.  The true irony of it is that Guy Fawkes was fighting for Catholicism in England after they tried to repress it.

I watched it last night. It’s a little unpolished but generally a good film. It was surprising — and frightening —  how much the State’s use of coercive tools mirrors our current experience.

Not sure if the current generation will appreciate the Old English and historical references though. I myself paused and googled a couple of things which wasn’t necessary but gave context and made the film more enjoyable.

And although it’s a dystopian film the ending was very “hopeful” for want of a better word.

Along with 1984, this should be required viewing for everyone of age regardless of their political views.

            7.5/10.

I mean there is censorship everywhere already, and has been for ages. What kind of censorship are you specifically talking about?
