That is how I behave on Twitter also….which might or might not be related to my rather uneventful experience there, so far.

There will always be some sort of ‘Social Media’ from this day until the internet is no more. Forums, were a form of ‘Social Media’ its just evolved.

And I was a forum mod in the late 90’s, so I don’t need a lesson in toxicity. But it was the kiddie pool compared to this contaminated sea we have to contend with.

That’s a little idealistic. Normies do all the same things we do, just in a shallow normie way with attention spans of knats. What makes a normie a normie is that they don’t invest the time we and the SJWs do in these things. They don’t fight….until the fight invades their normie areas. I’ll say it again. Things always change when the normies decide they’ve had enough and move en masse. It takes time to turn a massive tanker, and the normies are a massive tanker. They are already starting to reach a limit these past few months. Believe me. The normies are becoming displeased because the culture war we’ve all been fighting has started bleeding into their normie lanes, and they will react sooner rather than later, because the SJWs will disgust them even more than they disgust us.

Are you calling me a troll?   I am no troll.  I have been a regular, participating part of this community.

I created a Parler account based on the advice of someone else here.  I discovered some things in my experience that was not mentioned by the person who encouraged it, things that might be important to others (or not, by all appearances in this thread).

Of course if I still wanted an account on Parler, I could create another account.  I’m not ” crying about not being allowed on the platform”.   I created an account there fully expecting a good experience, which wasn’t the case, and have shared my experience.

Regarding my privacy concerns, hacking happens. Maybe protecting personal data isn’t a  concern for typical social media users anymore; but it remains a concern for me.

1. Twitter does not ask for my phone number for a basic account.
2. Twitter has never taken issue with my participation there (I behave, and I’m not there to argue).
3. Twitter allows me to update the email address connected to my account myself, on my own.
4. Twitter does not have a tip jar linked to their support account.

I thought about joining Parler. Got as far as going to their website and clicking “sign up”.

Then they asked for my phone number.

I was like “Nope!” …and clicked off the site.

Also, I hope you don’t take my response as “piling on”. You’re totally free to act and feel however you wish and control your Personal Info however you want! I respect that. Just sharing perspective. ;)
