Why can’t we all just not always get along?

Examples: I can’t stand identity politics, but I also can’t stand these people in public that won’t wear a mask. I’ve seen it twice now where someone in public has to make a big deal about being medically exempt from wearing a mask while they’re in a store for 10 minutes.  It ends up holding up the line and putting everyone on edge.

I have no intention of wearing a face diaper unless Im forced to by being in a Doctors office.

with how ‘diverse’ g+g is of late, i think its pretty obvious you’re going to disagree with someone easy. disagreements are part of life and a good thing usually. thats why censorship is bad generally. hear all ideas and option and take from the best, instead of ignoring concepts outside your comfort zone. the whole point of ‘dont expose them to it’ is dumb. its a bad idea they can reject, not radiation.

i’ve seena  few heated debates (and been in plenty, not all political even. the string theory ‘time is self correcting’ paradox was fun, or ‘what PKD really meant’ talks) and while i cna say i probably disagree with someone like uche 80%, its not personal its jsut a different view. i can still if the time came up say hello, smile, and genuinely enjoy spending time with the group because none of them are actually bad or malicious people (saying a lot lately). i think im quoting one of the rules but it honestly is ‘argue the idea, not the person’. plenty of people can have dumb ideas, but that isnt what makes them a person any more than their sexuality or gender.

Well said.  Reminds me of this clip with Mauler, Jeremy, Jay, Krista, and Anna on the same stream:

Mauler was rationally explaining how people need to have conversations more, not less.  He pointed out how rumors and misinterpretations about people often make others think they’re the embodiment of evil, “demons”.  How these rumors/misinterpretations make people say their existence shouldn’t even be acknowledged.  Yet when you actually talk to them, they’re like “Hey”, just like everyone else.

As an example of why I made this post, Mr.DragonBane, I disagree with your view on wearing a mask, but I’d be interested in hearing why you would refuse to wear a ‘face diaper’ as you said it. I always ask people that have a problem with the mask this question: “why do doctors wear masks when they perform surgery?” Almost everyone would agree they do it to prevent spreading any of their germs. Of course I realize the risks are much higher during a surgery, but the point is, the mask obviously to some extent reduces the spread of germs. I certainly wouldn’t want a doctor performing surgery on me without a mask. PS, I’m only 15 so I haven’t had any surgeries!

@Terrantheblack : I applaud you man. It’s always nice seeing people of color not mindwashed by the pity/victim culture they are programed into these days. Obama and his wife pretty much single handedly created the negative environment we have racially now days. One thing I always like to say is that the Japanese people had hard times and were discriminated against, they were put in camps even. They didn’t ask for hand outs. They worked hard and overcame. You don’t hear them whining and asking for things or reparations. Be a positive influence to others man, such as YoungRippa is imo, you are on the right path.

Iv’e been discriminated against as a white guy. I’ve been denied jobs and college BECAUSE Of my skin color. I once lost a job because of affirmative action and a liar. I’ve been bullied by the left, and the right. I had ANTIFA after me 10 years ago (I used to live in Portland, OR) . So man, it’s a lie that white people can’t experience racism and discrimination. I have lived it, it’s why I don’t tolerate it, from any “side”. I live by the motto that if it’s wrong for one, it’s wrong for all. Period. So, when I see all the anti-white straight male talk in our media, I see the hypocrisy and how wrong it is.

Matrin Luther King JR wanted us to take people based on the content of their character, not skin color. I am sure he is screaming in his grave today. Our current culture is obsessed with skin color and division.

      @Hazu
: It’s hard to want to talk about politics now day’s with people, because apparently people like us aren’t allowed to speak our minds. I never bring it up much as work, that is for sure. Lucky for me, my entire family is conservative/right. So, I don’t have to worry about not speaking my mind at thanksgiving dinner. lol. In fact, just two weekends ago I was with a lot of family, and half our discussions were political.

Real shit, the left is the masters of discrimination. If you know your history, Jim Crow laws were created by northern Democrats back in the 1850’s. They have always played emotions of one group against another. The northern Democrats were worried that freed slaves taking over.

People don’t know that during Reconstruction, a lot of Southerners *mostly democrats* moved up north for industrial jobs. That’s why a lot of the Klan were started in places like Indiana. In the south, many Black Republicans won seats in congress, and the first black Senator is from Mississippi of all places.

A lot of folks fall for the woke cultism because they lack historical context, and they want to be liked. It’s really sad actually.

@Terrantheblack : Isn’t it ironic that the people saying you need to be “educated” are the ones who get upset when you try to educate them on history and facts? Usually when it discounts what they are trying to promote? Such as, I don’t know, things like…the Clan was propagated by Democrats.

They want to play the victim narrative instead of getting people to stand up and better themselves. People bettering themselves would go against their propaganda and narrative. Can’t have people doing things for themselves because then the government can’t be their savior.

@ThrillHouse I applaud you young man. You show more maturity than most of twice your age. :-) My mother suffers from COPD, and masks reduce her blood oxygen levels to dangerous levels. To avoid harassment she has started wearing thin silky bandanas that barely stop light from getting through. I think people with simular conditions shouldn’t feel bullied into risking there health.

        #214532

“why do doctors wear masks when they perform surgery?”

Its a job requiremnt and the masks worn in an OR are not the same shit as the ones made from old socks or your sisters Gstring. Do note the masks being sold to the public say right on the packaging they dont do shit.

        #214533

The short answer to why do I refuse to wear a face diaper: No one has any lawful ability to tell me Im required to wear one.

People need to stop letting the government tell them how to act that is not their job.

        #214539

This one is for you @MrDragonBane:

        #214547

        Hi Mr dragonbane

Yeah you’re right but wearing a face mask isn’t about you, it’s about everyone else. It’s hard to know what to believe in the situation we’re in but the truth is what I believe is irrelevant.

If wearing a face mask gets us one step closer to ending this, then yeah I’ll wear a face mask.

Let me address the Mask issue.
copied from the covid thread on here to save a little time

The Arkansas Department of Health admitted at a Governors Press conference that 5.4% of deaths were “with covid-19 only” that means of the 5,455 death they actually have listed as “Covid Deaths” only 295 are from Covid-19 only. That is a mortality rate of 0.0902656871054701% for the State. I have actually seen studies that state had Better testing or isolation’s of Nursing homes in the beginning that mortality rate would be between 30 to 40 percent lower. Which actually pans out for Arkansas. That would lower our death rate to 191 from 295 to a true mortality rate of 0.058443207583541656%.

When people ask me why all the BS in Arkansas or any state i tell them follow the money…. Per Case in AR it is, $285,000 as of 2020…. Interestingly while trying to find it to update for this post, there is NO data more current and the media is not reporting it either. In Bidens bill Arkansas will get 2.66 billion in federal aid for Covid… We only have a population of 3,033,950 or $878.00 per person and $8,139.21 for each of the Covid cases we have had to date. Combined with the other relief packages its nearing 40k per covid case. Someone is getting VERY RICH off this and yet the media is not even looking at it.

I hate to say it but listing Covid as primary COD with multiple other comorbidity is all about the money from the Fed.

My City has a Population of :84,821
School District has (employee and student population) of; 24,000.
Average number of people per household is: 3
          Households with children is: 12,000
That means at minimum: 36,000 people per day come in to contact with each other. Actual  number is nearer 48,000.

We have been in school session since August with only weather days as the only time the schools have been closed that were NOT scheduled to be. 8 month in 10 days to be exact.

          Our County Population is: 293,000
With the school district(s) having a population of: 97,000 (employee and students)
          County Household is
          Households with children 57,000
That means at minimum: 154,000 people per day come in to contact with each other. Actual  number is nearer: 214 ,000.

We have 40,000 seniors over 65. 13.6% of the population. That is 254,000 people
We have 21,000 children under 5 years of age 6.9% of the population. That is 275,000 people
College population faculty and staff approximately 8,000 (that number is a 2018 number)

Covid-19 for the county stands at: Confirmed 33,950….Deaths 477….Recovered 26,542….. PER The state admission earlier this year 5.4% of deaths are attributed to Covid-19 only and nothing else which means the death number is 25.

So in a county of  293,000 people that has been in close contact for 8 months 5 days a week we have seen 34,000 cases 12% of the population with 477 death with covid-19. 1.4% of people who get it, but using the states admission of 5.4% being only covid-19, that is 0.0735294118% mortality rate with no comorbidity.

Now without getting even longer… THE CDC says you do not need to quarantine if you are within 3 months of receiving the vaccine, so to me this says its good for 90 days. There are some reports its good for 9 months some for 3 years truth is no one knows at this point. But going off  the CDC guidelines 3 months.

I feel sorry for anyone who lost friends or family with covid-19 present, I have known 27 people with it and lost my PCP as one of the first victims in my state and 2 other people whom I loved, both over 75 and both with multiple other health issues, I had 1 friend put in the hospital but that was early on when everyone who tested with it pretty much was. Most the people I have known and stories of people they have know say its is from a VERY BAD FLU to seasonal allergies in severeness.

Now I have known no one who got it twice, including teachers, and first responders. Could it happen? sure but all reports Ive read (and i could be wrong or missed something) getting it twice is extremely rare, and the few i did find said the people tested positive but had no symptoms. If getting it, then gives you an immunity (so-to-speak) vs a vaccine for 90 days. Well food for thought on if you want a vaccine or not.

As for me as someone might ask: I have not worn a mask at all, not one day. I am married to someone in a HIGH risk profession but do to medical reasons, I cannot wear a mask. I have gone out and except for 1 employee who the manager quickly had a chat with about ADA Regulation and Law and a few comments from people under their breath, I have not had any problems.  Would I wear a mask if I could? Early on in this YES! But as more time and information has come out, NO!  I am not in the Age Group that is Highest at Risk, Nor am I in close confined areas with people for prolonged exposure times and finally I have no comorbidity. Some might say that is selfish, again read the above “I cannot wear a mask” that I would not if I could. But as time has gone on I am really starting to believe the best way to defeat or decrease the spread of covid-19 truly is heard immunity by contraction of it.

Again I go back to the numbers of the schools system as they are easy to find online for your area. Looking at them verse the number of people who have had it lends to it not being near as infectious as we once thought and nor is it near as deadly as we thought. Yes it is still deadly, so is the Flu, pneumonia, HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and other communicable Diseases. Any of them combined with a comorbidity can be fatal. This is another in a long list of things we must learn to live with.

Now that all being said, The mask that people wear (mostly incorrectly) do not provide the protection people thing. If you have them on for multiple hours microspores will work through them, not to mention people are constantly adjusting them with “GASP” their hands and then when they take them off are eating food prepping food drinking etc. They throw them in laundry (btw a bio-hazard protection devise is suppose to be properly thrown away and destroyed after one use) and then someone does laundry “bare handed” then on to eating etc.

If reading all this and you still think mask work, im not sure what to say other then spend the time to actually research what I said, do the math on your own school district. I believe you will come to the same conclusion. Which for me was (First people did it out of fear) then (people did it because they thought it helped) and (some did it because they did not want to be looked at strangely or insulted) now (its become the norm) How many will wear mask even when they are told its ok not to? How many will still say things to people who dont?
