I love Willow. I have a physical copy on DVD.

Crossing my fingers they don’t ruin it for me forever.

    It sounds worse than bad.
Exactly the sort of thing that will keep me away.

    I was watching that show.

Listen, I’m not going to let Chris Gore make any decisions for me, especially if he can’t even finish the first episode of the three he has to report on it (I believe he said at some point he didn’t even finish the first episode). I honestly do not agree with much of Chris Gore’s takes on anything, so while I have been and remain wary about this show, I will see it for myself in full before I start warning others to stay away.

Think about it like this. So far through the first three episodes of The Peripheral (I have yet to watch episode 4 tonight), it has been decent, but some notable YouTubers like Az dipped out after that single silly line in the beginning about “female gamers”, instantly crying intersectional feminism without even getting into the meat of the show.

To listen to an opinion, when that opinion has not even gotten all the information on something, is not the way to go.

I saw this WAY back when it was announced. I will be watching. I grew up loving Willow.

However, I don’t let others decide what I enjoy. For example, I really like Andor, but everyone keeps saying it is “boring”. I 100% disagree. The cinematography & writing is top notch. I personally find it sad that more people aren’t watching it, because I am really enjoying it (So is Mr H Reviews)

Nerdrotic and G&G tend to also be Negative Nacies with way too many things imo. For example, they never talk about fantastic shows like Superman & Lois. Why? It deserves some praise. I’ve never heard them talk about Stargirl either, which is actually a fun show. Why are they not supporting Comics Gate creators on Indiegogo? But they make 10000 video’s on things they “hate”, such as video after video after video on (yes a crappy show) Rings of Power (I got REALLY tired of those from everyone). I have grown pretty weary of them all now days. I am just tired of the continual bashing, negativity, and even hate about seemingly EVERYTHING with barley any love or positivity for things that are deserving of it. They spent an hour bashing Rings of Power one night on FNT, had to fast forward past it. It’s funny and ok for a few min, but for an hour? No.

I don’t see why anyone would give this a chance.  Another remake or reimaging by the wokest of companies that has time and time again wokified and botched remakes.

I am with @DarthVengeant on the bashing though.  I understand reviews and talking about lore but talking about it constantly is not for me.  But I understand, they have businesses to run so I get it.  For me I don’t care for that stuff so I simply don’t watch it beyond a certain point. But hey, if folks like that stuff to each his own.

I won’t be watching this Willow stuff I am sure it will be awful and besmirch the previous movie that was awesome.

Looking forward to your comments and reviews. Don’t see how Val Kilmer can be replaced. What a character he was. If I just glanced at it, I would think it was Wheel of Time all over again. Definitely make up your own mind, have your own thoughts and opinions. I happen to really, really enjoy bashers of Hollywood but don’t have the hours anymore to take in the content that Az and others are making. If I happen to catch it, then great.

The Peripheral is one of those things I just watch out of curiosity. Different things reach different types of people. I guess I didn’t catch the line about female gamers, or if I did, it just didn’t land. It only hooked me due to old school sci-fi sentiment. Guess I’m looking for that catchy enthusiasm that the previous generations had for their sci-fi. Don’t know how much of it is around. In the Chato comments, a person said Dark by Netflix was a good show.

No real disagreement here. I like catching their footage, but some of these channels are just too big with too much for too long. It’s overdose. I prefer micro-dose.

I  as well will be watching it, I refuse to let anyone’s opinion sway mine. If I did that I would have enjoyed shows such as (Warrior Nun, Shadow and Bone and Enola Holmes) which I enjoyed all of them. Shadow and Bone I had so many people saying it was woke garbage, when pressed on what they found was woke they could not name it.

I firmly believe so many people are so fed up with the BS they will and without doubt are labeling things that are not truly woke. To those doing it, you are worse than the ones actually creating the woke garbage, because you are the ones who should be giving things a chance and then giving an honest opinion based off seeing it. Instead you have become a lynch mob that wants to convict without evidence.

We typically have some evidence  from trailers  but Willow I have not seen one single bit of it, could there be YES. But I will wait for that first episode and judge for myself. HotD should have taught you that lesson.

So, people need to be informed a bit here. This is not a reimagining or a reboot. It is a proper sequel. Sorsha (Joanne Whalley), who is now Queen, is in the show and her and Mad Mardigan’s child is in the show and one of the main characters. Val Kilmer could not be in the show for obvious reasons. Willow (Warwick Davis) is also back and will be leading a group of younger people to defeat a new threat. They essentially pull him out of retirement to go face this new threat. So, this is a sequel to the original show.

        @Mustangride1
: I too really enjoyed Warrior Nun and am looking forward to the new season. I agree that many people are labeling things as “woke” that are not woke (such as the guy who keeps ranting on here about Resident Evil 4 remake being woke, it’s not). I also think too many people that we have mentioned are watching one or less episodes and making a judgement out of that. I have grown tired of the labeling right off the bat as something being woke. Yes, there is a lot of stuff that is woke, but there is a lot of stuff that is not. The new King Fu for example, I would not call it woke even though it is on CW. It has a female protagonist and her brother is gay. It however still is a fun show and actually a quite moral show that has a good family dynamic, I quite enjoy it. No one probably gives it a chance simply for being on CW it will be labeled as crap and ignored. Well, Superman and Lois is an EXCELLENT show and it is on CW too.

No, not everything is woke.  This is true.  I have found a number of things that people claim as woke contained maybe a little bias but it was not overbearing. It’s just that people are so sick to death of it they don’t want any part of it anymore. Once you get bludgeoned over and over even being hit a little will make you flinch.

I personally am done giving Disney, Netflix and Hollywood my money and chances. I refuse to give them cash each month so they can make 9 garbage shows and maybe 1 decent one that I might not mind watching.  It’s just not worth it to me.

So, if I see something is reviewed well by people whose opinion I care about, cool.  I might check it out. But I will not fund all the crap I don’t care for when 95% of the time it’s garbage (woke or otherwise).

I usually like to make my own mind up when it comes to this sort of thing. I don’t have a problem with race or gender swapping of characters that’ve been adapted from a book or comic book or anime but when it ends up being the entire cast of characters including side characters- like what we saw with ‘Eternals’- then even I’m going to raise my eyebrows up. Just don’t do it to a period piece and then claim that it’s “Historically accurate” (looking at you Netflix “Persuasion” and ITV “Sanditon” 😠). It’s how they go about marketing them that I mainly have a problem with.

I had to join the community just to comment on this. I’ve been a lurker for awhile, now; however, after listening to the video above and reading comments, I wanted to add my 2cp.

I grew up with Willow. I loved the movie, it was fun. I also enjoyed Krull; I don’t think it’s an either/or proposition.

As an EMT in a small town, some of the calls to which we would respond became routine: e.g., “Bob’s drunk again and ran his car into the light pole.” That’s how I see modern Disney. They’ve done so many awful things to beloved material that I expected them to do it with Willow, as well.

As a member of one of the smallest minorities on the planet (Eskimo), I can tell you that I do not need to be represented in every show or movie. In fact, even when they had actual Eskimos acting in Hollywood, they were often mis-directed or horribly written. My great-Uncle was in several movies and we loved that he was cast in those parts; however, it seems they did not consult him, for the most part, but had a preformed idea that they wanted to create. I digress…

The only way that I may watch one of the episodes is if I accidentally walk in when one of my family members is watching it. I’m tired of the horrible, childish writing which places trendy agendas above story and content. It seems as if Disney will produce and release a wreck of a show 9 times out of 10, with the lucky one slipping by only to be “fixed” later. As much as I loved the movie, it’s a hard pass for me.

            @Mantor

Thank you for what you do.

Also, a big hell yes for “Krull”!

I am with you on Disney.  If 98% of the time when you see someone they punch you in the face.  Do you keep visiting them hoping for that 2% you won’t get hit?  No.  You avoid them entirely.

Have not watched it, but i guess it is out.
            Here are some spoiler reviews.

Again, I have not seen it.

              thing 2

This has the look and smell of Darth Kennedy and her cult all over it.  Yes I have seen it, I liked the opening call back to the original Movie. But after that the Dialogue was Horrible. Men were again Idiots and Spoiler Kit and Jade are in a gay relationship forced in your face from the first scene and Kit reminds me of Rey Skywalker.

Warning:: They Make it look like Madmartigan  is a bad father who left his family, to bad they fucked up and released EP-1 AND 2 because its explained why he left in EP-2. They would have played this had they been able to without a doubt.

The battle scene at least for me was both dark and shaky, creature work was decent but the fight was meh because of the dark and shaky.  Willow was barely and I mean Barely in EP-1 of a show named WILLOW.

Ep-2 gets a little better, but the dialogue is still horrible, Willow is not set in 2022 have any of these watched the original or anything in the fantasy realm. Morons cannot write for things they do not know, they just do not have the creativity or knowledge. Men still dumb and Rey still ( i mean kit) still being insufferable.

So far both episodes only get a 2.5 out of 10 from me. FARTGATE was more entertaining!
