I remember as a kid seeing the Mr. Magoo version of The Christmas Carol. It stands out, because Mr. Magoo was a comedy animated character, but if I remember right, this show or movie had a fairly serious tone to it.
But my favorite, alongside A Charlie Brown Christmas, would be the 1951 version of A Christmas Carol. It’s one of those black-and-white movies that still seems so colorful.
Back in 1981 there was a great sci-fi puppet show called “Stainless Steel and the Star Spies.” This was intended as the pilot for a series but the series never happened so just the one episode shown at Christmas was made.
I love Christmas and one of my Christmas traditions is watching movies. My favorite movies are all the parts of Home Alone, I also really like A Christmas Story, and of the new movies I liked in the spirit of Christmas. But every year I download some part of Home Alone to my Macbook and we watch it with the whole family through the video player. Movies like this really lift the spirits and make you feel festive. So Christmas is one of my favorite days.
