Tuggs Tweets Something Funny; The Internet Ensues

Like the acolytes of any cult, the MeToo devotees get deranged when faced with anything that chips away at their core beliefs – or one of their sacred cows. The latest is Amber Heard, who was successfully sued for defamation by ex-husband Johnny Depp to the tune of a little over $10 million. Seemingly everyone is having their say over the verdict, especially due to the wider cultural repercussions, as this trial was seen by many as a referendum on MeToo and its Believe All Women tenet. Geeks + Gamers homegirl Tuggs posted a photo a couple of days ago showing a Las Vegas strip club with an amusing invitation for the soon-to-be-strapped-for-cash Heard:

Funny, right? Something anyone would do when faced with an amusing business advertisement, right? Insert “Only in Vegas” joke here, right? Of course not, because Twitter is Twitter, and the soulless fly to it like bugs to rotting fruit. Amid many friendly and similarly tickled replies and retweets – or folks civilly disagreeing with the sign – were the expected insults from unhinged mole people who cannot stand any perceived slight on one of their preciouses, or natural light.

They start off insulting Tuggs’ faith:

Then, they quickly advance to comparing her to Ghislaine Maxwell, which is either an insane stretch because they know they’ve got nothing or a peek into how these people think of actual sex crimes:

Still more accused her of hating women because crazy’s just another word for nothing left to lose:

Then, predictably, came the wishes for pain and death:

Finally, and particularly cruelly, they started using Buddy, Tuggs’ recently passed dog, against her:

How much do you want to bet these people are tweeting furiously about how toxic Star Wars fans are in the wake of Moses Ingram’s “ordeal”? The most moral among us are always the creepiest, angriest, and most potentially violent (or at least would like to be). Fortunately, the internet has created legions of the modern-day telephone tough guy, and these people are bigger threats to their keyboard keys than they are to Tuggs. However, in the interest of lightening the mood, here’s an exchange that’s almost as funny as the sign:

Keep ‘em coming, Tuggs, and remember that wherever he is, Buddy loves you.
