Vanessa Morgan Rumored for Batwoman

Vanessa Morgan may be going from Riverdale to Gotham City. The Cinema Spot exclusively reports that the actress is in contention to succeed Ruby Rose as the Scarlet Knight. It is said that Morgan will be doing a screen test with the other actors soon, which, if the recent audition tapes are anything to go by, will most likely include a scene between her and Camrus Johnson discussing Kate’s legacy and the new character’s past with Scarecrow. Kate’s disappearance will be a key storyline of season 2, according to showrunner Caroline Dries.
Since Ruby Rose’s exit was announced, the new Batwoman has been a hotly coveted role, with performers from wrestler Sonya Deville to Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Stephanie Beatriz voicing their interest in the part. I had personally been rooting for Beatriz, as I felt she would be perfect based on the character description, and she’s one of the best parts of the Fox-turned-NBC sitcom. However, it makes sense that they would try to keep the search in-house this time, as opposed to going with someone currently working on another network. Despite Vanessa Morgan’s recent comments regarding being a sidekick on Riverdale, I almost think that might work in her favor when it comes to this role, as the audience won’t have many preconceived notions about her. While I don’t follow the Archie Comics adaptation religiously, from what I’ve seen of her work on Riverdale, she does pretty well with what she’s given, and will no doubt fit the role of Ryan Wilder, or whatever the character’s real name might be. Here’s hoping the new direction for Batwoman will be worth it.

I love Vanessa Morgan so I’m in. But Sonya Deville would be great, shes a good promo and a pretty food actress.
Sonya Deville would make a great Batwoman I agree, her coming from WWE would help the fight scene anemically. Her acting seeing how I don’t think she’s ever done any acting again outside of WWE would have to be worked on though
I tried, but couldn’t get into the first version of Batwoman. Unfortunately, the CW shows have all started going drastically downhill and it doesn’t bode well that they recast the LEAD so quickly. However, if they wanted to, they could actually write a transition from Riverdale to Gotham that would keep her character the same.
I know Riverdale and Sabrina are in the same universe, though I don’t believe the DC shows are.
Honestly, I wish they were because I’d LOVE for Tom Ellis to head over to Sabrina and watching the chemistry between Lucifer and Constantine during the crossover was insane, they both just radiated charm and fun and mischief. Sorry, I went on a tangent.
I never watched the show and from what I’ve heard and read, it’s a disaster of a show.
Never going to watch this show, but this chick in this pic sure is hot.
Well, at least she’s hot.
More power to her I say, if she doesn’t mind playing a lesbian then so be it, might actually make the show watchable for a change
