Young Justice Mid-Season Trailer Saves the Universe

On Thursday, February 12th, HBO Max released a mid-season trailer for Young Justice season 4, Phantoms. Although the fourth season overall, Phantoms is the second season of Young Justice’s streaming revival after being canceled due to low toy sales. The first 13 episodes of Phantoms’ run aired from October 16th to December 30th of 2021, leaving fans on a few cliffhangers over the hiatus. This 30-second clip is our first look at this batch of episodes. The clip reiterates a release time of spring 2022 but doesn’t offer a specific date. Check it out here:
We get our first look at Zatanna back in the Dr. Fate mask since season 1 here. I’m very curious about the bell ritual the characters seem to be doing at the beginning of the clip; if this is something I’ve missed in past seasons or something from the comics, feel free to let me know in the comments. I can only assume the line about the “one true king” refers to the events on Mars; either that, or we may be getting more flashbacks about Atlantis. It also appears Metron may be a good guy this season; either that or all-out destruction will force him to do good. This would not be unlike Vandal Savage intervening to save the Earth in season 3, Outsiders. As is to be expected with a 30-second teaser clip, we can’t really ascertain much. However, it looks great, and I can’t wait to see the follow-up on Zatanna’s arc in particular.

That’s interesting about Rocket and Forager. I know Forager was somewhat divisive in Outsiders but I liked him. Couldn’t agree more about Gar. I like the depression arc he’s been on, and I hope he gets better soon. He neds to actually deal with his trauma now instead of pushing it down.
You should see what Forager looked like in the comics. Very different than how he is in the show.
From reading another article, it seems we’re starting with Rocket who will be hanging with Forager and the New Gods in New Genesis for something. I look forward to seeing more of them including Orion whom M’Gann’s brother posed as in Outsiders. I noticed King Shark in the trailer. His name in this is Nanaue Sha’ark. Also, I noticed our Mars culprit, Ol-Vir fighting Orion. Hopefully we’ll see our present heroes meet our Legionnaires and please get Gar back in his game.
