RIP Bill Russell

I walked away from watching professional sports in general years ago for lots of reasons.

But that doesn’t mean I’ve removed my memories or forgotten the greats, especially as a Celtics fan.

Bill Russell was the greatest winner of all time in basketball. One ring for each finger +1.

Because of his defensive prowess, they were forced to start keeping track of blocked shots as a stat.

During the time in history when Civil Rights was an actual issue, he was a composed and classy icon that actually furthered the cause.

Goodbye, Bill.
