The Actress’s Son Directs His Mother In Some Steamy Scenes In ‘Strictly Confidential’

Elizabeth Hurley needs no introduction to any heterosexual male who grew up in the 90s. The British model who became an actress was a major sex symbol, starring in movies like EDtv, Bedazzled, and, most notably, Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery. And now, at 58 years old, Hurley is returning to the big screen in the erotic thriller Strictly Confidential.

Now, this wouldn’t be anything particularly newsworthy if it weren’t for the fact that the movie was written and directed by Damian Hurley, Elizabeth’s son, whom she had with American businessman Steve Bing in 2002.

Yes, Damian wrote this erotic thriller and then decided to cast his own mother in a role that not only had her having lots of sex but also having sex with other women.

Setting aside the fact that Elizabeth Hurley is still smoking hot at almost 60, the idea of casting your own mother in such a role and then directing her behind the camera as she engages in steamy scenes with men and women is… a little odd, to say the least.

What is Strictly Confidential about? Well, according to the movie’s website:

“A woman named Mia is haunted by the suicide of her best friend, Rebecca. Reluctantly, she accepts an invitation from Rebecca’s family to their home in the Caribbean, where her college friends are assembling to commemorate Rebecca on the anniversary of her death.

Once on the island, Mia is plagued by suspicions that there’s more to Rebecca’s death than meets the eye; gradually, she learns that both Rebecca’s family and each of the guests are harboring a deadly secret, all with direct ties to Rebecca. Mia delves into Rebecca’s past, desperate to uncover what really happened that fateful day last summer. As more deceptions come to light, Mia finds herself drawn into a world of sex, duplicity and betrayal. Despite the dangers that lurk at every corner, Mia is relentless, determined to uncover the truth… but at what cost? Are some secrets meant to stay buried?”

Elizabeth Hurley plays Lily, who appears prominently in the trailer, most notably in a scene where she’s seduced by a younger woman, and the two start to kiss, progressively getting even more “intimate.”

On Instagram, Damian said this about his mother:

“Everyone involved deserves public declarations of adoration (all of which will come in due course) but right now I want to worship @ElizabethHurley1 promised me she’d be in my first feature.  True to her word, the minute this film was greenlit, Mama dropped everything and raced out to the beautiful Caribbean to help. Working together was a dream.”

In an interview with Access Hollywood, the mother and son duo had this to say about filming the steamy scenes together.

“The things in his script that he needed me to do weren’t necessarily things I’d always done in movies. Having him there meant that I felt safe and looked after,” said Hurley.

If anything, the Austin Powers alum noted she was comfortable filming sex scenes and dressing in itty-bitty bikinis in large part because her son was behind the camera.

“I’m relaxed in front of him. He looks after me,” she pointed out. “It’s liberating to work with your family.”

Damian, who also wrote his feature film debut, echoed similar sentiments as his mother.

“People find this really controversial,” he said, before sharing that show business has “been a fundamental part of my entire life, so for us, it’s just not a thing. It’s part of business. We felt in our comfort zone.”

Though it might seem weird that a mother and son would be cool simulating sex in front of each other, this is Hollywood, so apparently, it’s okay to hire your mom to pretend to bang another woman in front of you.  But if your mom is Elizabeth Hurley, should you get a pass?
