100% I hear you bro. I want to start off by saying, I AM a traditional artist. I draw, paint, write &, photo & video & I’m also a graphic Designer… have dabbled with music as well. I love creativity & trying things out. That being said:
I started with Night Caffee, it was crap, then I moved on to something else that was Meh. I had signed up for Dall-E.2 & waited months for it to accept me. Dall-E is such a frigging joke. Everybody designs the exact same thing. There was this piece that everybody lost their sh*t over, because it was so realistic & it looked cute…dude, it was the most generic thing I have ever seen. It was a picture of a Teddy Bear in the Snow LOL & it was so profound to them.
That’s the thing with NON artists, they don’t understand art. If it looks realistic it’s high art to them, when you look at the front page of what is popular in ALL the Ai-art sites, it’s always the most generic static pieces. If it’s a person, it’s 80% of the time waist up, no pose & blank expression, but it looks realistic & cool & that’s all they understand. In the end, it’s all teddy bears in the snow lol.
I am ok with that, because they pose ZERO threat to me & other artists. NONE! But then we get into the REAL f*cking problem, the Censorship & the identity politics they all have.
Midjourney is THE BEST tool bar-none. Stable Diffusion is great but you need a powerful pc to run it near the level of Midjourney.
The best time to design things that are more risqué like breasts is when they launch a new version of the service, like V5, that for the first 3-4 days let your create topless women & nudes but the genitals were always obstructed. & without fail people RUN to the mods & admins:
“HELP! HELP! I’M BEING OFFENDED! THEY ARE DOING BOBS & VAGANAS! HELP!”
F*CK OFF you little b*tches! And they are from what I have seen, ALL of them are liberals & none of them know the difference between a nude & pornography, because it’s all sex with them. I remember when it was the conservatives that wanted censorship, but they evolved & Liberals…well, they are a living contradiction, an entropy of common sense.
I made a conscious decision to be a jerk after my 3rd month. Because I was tired of everybody demanding censorship against the illegal female body. But LGBT stuff, yeah that is easy to do. Want a man & woman to embrace, good luck. Want to men to embrace, no problem. I tested this a couple of days ago, use a picture of an overly made up woman & use a prompt that would imply topless (you have to figure out what words they do not forbid) & it will generate for you a topless woman, but she will look like a Drag Queen & strangely like Justin Trudeau. It’s f*cking nerve racking that you can’t escape that sh*t, anywhere.
Anyways, after the 4-5th day, they had a meeting with us & told us they JUST NOW banned the word CHEST. I kid you not! Every word they banned is related to the beauty of women. Up until last month BIKINI was also banned.
I would recommend joining the Midjourney discord & listen in on the Weekly Office Hours that take place at 3 pm on Wednesdays, I’m telling you, it will drive you both crazy & it will be the funniest thing you ever attended. People praising the censorship at every meeting, the hosts have ZERO self confidence & they people that ask questions will make you question if they have ever spoken to another human being in their 1st language. It’s like a schizophrenic Twilight Zone.
So the reason I decided to be a jerk is so people do not follow me & so they do not look at what I design so they can’t copy my stuff. Also, the mods watch me less since I have been paying 50$ per month for the past 5 months so I can get away with designing more risqué things or horror…yeah even horror elements are mostly banned. Again a few months ago the words Blood were all banned & anything suggestion violence was also banned…it still is but if you understand how to write a short story with an action sequence, you can force their ai, Midge to do almost what you want. Sometimes it starts off with FULL nudes & as you watch it render, it add layers of clothing or starts blocking things off. They are so hateful of Women that they do not allow you to generate realistic FEMALE FEET. It is 100% capable of doing it, because it starts off as a realistic female foot with 5 toes, then as it goes, it ads 1-4 extra toes, adds a finger under the sole & pretty much deforms it till you cannot recognize it. Or it will just start adding a shoe all around it.
As you can see the censorship is the thing I hate the most about it as well. Progressives will ALWAYS destroy anything they touch with their mental disorder of hate.
Regarding a web version, they said NO, not any time soon & they don’t want to because it would give us more freedom to create.
Oh, I almost forgot, 4 weeks ago, they told us that Midge was also being trained to Judge us based on what we create so it can learn to self sensor better as it creates so you cannot circumvent their restrictions so easily. I see it active more & more now. Hence if your picture looks too spicy it will ruin it as it goes.
It’s crazy how aggressively authoritarian Leftists are, they are obsessed with controlling people & denying people.
Anyways, sorry for the long rant but yeah, as a creative artist I hate HATE censorship & I am very Christian (Greek Orthodox) just to be clear.
