Baby Yoda Has a Name! The Mandalorian Reveals Beloved Character’s True Moniker
Baby Yoda has a name!
The true moniker behind The Mandalorian’s adorable green alien, also known as The Child, was revealed to be Grogu in Disney+’s Star Wars series’ latest season 2 episode, “The Jedi.”
According to Entertainment Weekly, the episode also revealed that Grogu used to live on Coruscant and was trained at the Jedi Temple before he was ushered into hiding when the Empire came to power.
Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) explained that Grogu’s memory became “dark” once he went into hiding, which leads her character to decide not to train Grogu because of the anger inside him after years of exile. Instead, Tano suggests that Mando (Pedro Pascal) take Grogu to the Jedi Temple on Tython and see if any of the remaining Jedi take him, EW reported.
So, a former Jedi Apprentice would rather have a force sensitive with “dark” memories grow with those “dark” emotions? She knew of Anakin’s “dark” side, so deciding that her experience with seeing first hand what those “dark” feelings can lead to, decided it was best to seen the Child away on yet another goose chase to see it any “Jedi” would want to continue training the 50 year old?
Sure sounds like another Luke (you are too old) scenario here.
Besides, don’t you think Yoda of all people would sense the CHILD still being alive, one of his own species, and train the CHILD while in exile?
And would you not think the Empire would not know of any “jedi temples” in the galaxy?
Would they not have all be destroyed? With a permanent detachment of Stormtroopers there?
BTW: When I first say the name, I thought Goku?
