Was thinking about this the other night and have come to this conclusion for my top five movie adaptations from Stephen King novels (which I grew up reading and watching the movie adaptations likewise):

    1. Stand By Me
    2. The Shining (I mean because this is a Kubrick film with such depth and layers it should automatically be #1 but went with more of an underdog I guess)
    3. The Dead Zone
    4. Carrie
    5. The Shawshank Redemption

    2. Maximum Overdrive

    3. Riding the Bullet

    4. 1408

    5. The Shawshank Redemption

    1. Carrie (’76)

    2. The Shining (’80)

    3. Dead Zone

    4. Dolores Claiborne

    5. Misery

I also really liked The Mist, Christine, Stand By Me, Creepshow, and Storm of the Century.
