Haha, I was wondering if Comicsgate had any relationship to “gatekeeping”. I’m not surprised there’s a bunch to swish through to get to the real stuff, thanks for giving me a pointer, it’ll give me something to research for now.
I remember some history of the comics, man weren’t the publishers annoyed to heck at one point because people wanted a standard of a sort in the comics. Not that you couldn’t publish without getting the mark of this standard, just people started wanting that more. And because of the standard, they had to focus more on characters and story and if I recall correctly it started selling to a much wider audience which meant more money.
So my long about way of saying that standards can actually mean a good story.
