There’s a voice in my head that always tries to check the neckbeard, “Hey we don’t know if it was a diversity hire picked for their gender or skin tone over their competency.” But with twitter posts like this, one has to wonder. Feel free to look through their feed, it’s woke as hell.

This world is literally falling apart so billionaires can stroke their egos. We need a new initiative. Want diversity hires in your company? Start with the pilot of your private jet. The world shouldn’t shoulder the risk of your hubris and moral grandstanding.

We can see the lights go out, looks like technical issues that may have cause the engine to fail and power to go out. This is likely the result of years and years of lowering standards and corporate cost cutting bullshit masquerading as social progress.

    Footage is nuts
Obvious mention that they already wanted to replace his song with a different national anthem, so this is symbolic as well.

Ah yes, wokeness is the reason for this too

Surprised that no one blamed Putin or Russia.

This comes right after the attack in Moscow.

These days literally nothing can happen without people politicizing it. Just any plane crash or natural catastrophe are caused by opposing factions, neferious groups, wokeness etc.

Ya, I think this was just an accident and it doesn’t need to be politicized. I see the company had WOKE practices, but that doesn’t mean this still just wasn’t an equipment failure or other causes. Instead of reacting right off the bat with assumptions and fear, which is half the problem with people now days, how about giving it time for an investigation and we’ll see what happened? This reactionary hysteria saturating our culture now is really enough already!!!

However, the USA infrastructure greatly needs updating/upgrading. This is a fact. Such as our power grid structure. It needs to be strengthened and EMP proofed. We are WIDE OPEN for an EMP attack and it would essential collapse this country. I suggest people look into it, it’s a real problem and concern.

Francis Scott Key was already politicized before this happened. The woke have already gone after Francis Scott Key and called him racist, so this bridge coming down is much like a statue removal. The woke targeted the national anthem and the NFL has even supported the woke in their attack on yet another symbol of tradition. It’s already politicized.

It is very easy to make a prediction of what comes next. They will remake a bridge one day and name it James Weldon Johnson bridge instead of Francis Scott Key because of race. This is what the woke will do. You will see.

Pete Buttigieg is in charge of this. If you point out chemical spills and horrific accidents, is the media going to call you “homophobic?” The reason for this question is that before Mayorkas was impeached, he was asked about his terrible job on the border and he said his family was in the holocaust. This is what the woke do. When it’s time for accountability, the woke say Homophobic, holocaust, racism. The woke will call you antisemitic for wanting bridges to remain, or statues to remain. The woke will call you nazi and will create an excuse to do so.

The reason people lose is they fear the woke and fear politicizing things that have already been targeted for removal. Not sure if Pete Buttigieg has communist ties, but did hear someone mention it today. He’s got that globohomo shield though, right? Can’t say he sucks at his job or you will be labeled and we should all live in fear. Who needs bridges?

      @DarthVengeant 100% agree

Russia has hated the west for a long time, so this bridge coming down is like an attack towards the west.

we can yap back and forth lunatic conspiracy theories all day long, but the best course of action is to stick to reality and follow as more information comes out. Right now it seems like the ship had technical problems which lead to the engine turning off (in some videos you can see the lights going on and off). The ship already caused damage earlier in the Netherlands, with errors detected at a check-up in Chile.

This was a horrible accident based on a few things happening to line up.

Bad things DO happen like that and on the regular.

It was not a cyberattack, if it was they would have just steered the boat , full speed ahead, right at the pylon.

The boat lost power as it neared the bridge which I assume means an automatic pilot would also have been gone.

From what I understand the captain was entirely concerned as they lost power again nearing the bridge.  That’s a proper reaction.

He dropped anchor on 1 side to slow/stop that huge ship.  It caused it to go to one said and hit the pylon.

Was the boat moving fast?  No, but that much mass moving even slowly has a MASSIVE amount of energy.  It’s physics.

The pylon should have had a guard/border around it but it did not.  Would that have stopped that much energy and saved the bridge?  I don’t know.

I actually find it fortunate the bridge was not bumper to bumper traffic.

Was it woke DEI stuff?  I doubt that.  Something dealing with that much much investment no one is going to risk.  I find it more likely they will disappear you if you were a threat.

I actually find it fortunate the bridge was not bumper to bumper traffic.

It was at night, when traffic across the bridge was a fraction of what it would have been during the day, and the ship did issue an SOS at the first sign of trouble to the post authorities who did STOP traffic from entering the bridge.  But the pothole road repair crew (I think they were) who were on the bridge was not so lucky.  I have not heard if anyone BUT them were lost/missing.

I had seen 1 car with 2 people was recovered.  But again, this could have been MUCH MUCH worse.  I am not saying it’s good but it could have been horrific loss of life wise.   It’s going to be very bad closing/slowing a major port.  That is going to be economically painful.

Maybe the ship was in bad shape but I doubt that.  There is so much investment tied up in that stuff no one f’s with that.  But maybe I am wrong, not an expert.  I think this is likely just very unfortunate circumstances combined with the bridge pylon not being protected.

But as someone who lived through Katrina, people complained about EVERYTHING going down.  We lost 911 and even all cellular, there was ZERO comms outside of sat phones.  One can say well this should have been different here or that should have been different there.  And some things were rebuilt better, but at the end of the day you cannot plan for everything and with extreme things like 105,000 tons moving across the water, something will probably give.

In my mind, it should be less about culpubility and more about making that scenario less likely in the future.

The ship had faulty pressure gauge for the fuel heaters during a check-up in Chile but they were apparently fixed. This was as far as I know a problem with the generator that casued the ship to lose its ability to brake or steer, they could only make an emergency call to warn people on the bridge

The Biden admin is beyond awful, we all know that.  But it takes decades of failure for long existing infrastructure to fall apart.  This is a common theme unfortunately but we cannot solve it without understanding why it happened.

However I am not sure the bridge is the fault of anyone.  Not everything bad that happens is a plan or the direct fault of someone.  Often it is, just not always.

Was this a difficult prediction to make?
Does it make one wonder if this was an accident or not?
