Clarification : Cuties =/= French culture or approval

Hey everyone,

I saw many videos from Quartering, G&G about Netflix’s Cuties movie.

I noticed some people instantly blame the French, saying it is a country of degenerates with no morals. As a person born in France but not a French descendant (my parents are migrants from Cabo Verde with obviously Portuguese origins with our white/tanned skintone) I really feel the need to clarify some things because a lot of people are jumping on mindless hate like good ignorant sheeps. Not surprised there but still I don’t like people with no experience and knowledge talking shit when they just don’t know their subject.

If Jeremy or anyone from G&G and those other channels could even make a little note about not mistaking Cuties as French culture, it would really mean a lot for us who feels sad and ashamed by this being branded a French film.

Let’s clear some things up :

The director of this movie is named Maïmouna Doucouré, basically, she’s like me. From migrant parents and was born in Paris (I was born in a rather wealthy suburb) and from what I gathered is rather a wealthy person and lucky person compared to most regular French folks.

Some info about her :

– She received an award from an obscure organization for one of her movies named “Maman” (Mother). Quote : “During the 2017 Cesat Award ceremony, she reflected her painful experiences of being a black, muslim female director while working in a white male dominated film industry.”

So basically complaining about being in the movie industry while many French no matter the ethnicity can only dream of it. Even with dedicated studies (which she did not, she got a simple license of Biology at a public university in Paris).
You don’t enter in the movie industry just like that, you either need real talent and some fame (like Omar Sy who came from a poor background) or know some well placed persons who can get you to a position.

– When interviewed about the kid actors : “I explained to them everything I was doing and the research that I had done before I wrote this story. I was also lucky that these girls’ parents were also activists, so we were all on the same side. At their age, they’ve seen this kind of dance. Any child with a telephone can find these images on social media these days.” With 700 girls applying for the roles…

Basically, crazy and sad excuse of parents. But judging by the looks of those kids, they most certainly come from poor suburbs that are known to be shitholes. So I wouldn’t be surprised for the parents to be ok if some cash is involved. After all, many parents from those very same suburbs don’t care if their kids are into drug traffic, theft and the like.

To give you some perspective, here is a small map I map of Paris and its suburbs, to put it simply you have different levels of safety. Paris overall is ok but still a shithole to me, mostly depends on the districts : the more you go to the West the safer and wealthier it is, the more you go to the North and East, and it gets ugly.

This is just my view on things after living there for almost 30 years and trying to search for an apartment to purchase. Now my only desire is to find another job in another city less messed up.

Due to my origins and my views, I still don’t consider France my home and probably no place will ever be to me. And I can understand the dislike for French folks, some can be arrogant and incredibly stupid.

However you can ask any real French and he or she would be disgusted at this garbage of a movie. I’ve met many French people in my life : honest ones, degenerates I instantly avoided, dumb ones…. you name it. French do not approve pedos, very far from it. The people have no control over the stupid decisions of some wealthy and well placed individuals or politicians, but more and more people are getting fed up with their crap. Can’t wait for the next elections in 2022, hopefully people will wake the hell up by that time.

There are very few French movies I like, but there are some, Louis de Funès was a very famous and funny actor who did a lot of comedy movies and short films.
More recently, you have the movie named Intouchables with Omar Sy (lead role and a black dude) and a French actor : https://www.imdb.com/title/tt01675434/

And yet some insane people will say France is racist meanwhile the map I provided you with the Red/Orange zones are placed filled with non French people and if you go there without a car, you’d be lucky to get out with your underwear in some places…
Those places are filled with people who are educated with radical ideologies and cultivate the hate of the country and French traditions.

Well that is all I wanted to get off my chest, I’m sorry if was to long but I really felt the need to clarify after seeing some insane ignorant comments on Youtube.

I may have the French nationality and don’t feel French but it doesn’t prevent me to respect them and their culture unlike many and especially this Cutie director who shames this country and its people.
