Coyotes eliminated, could not overcome slow start, special teams issues
The Arizona Coyotes failed to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the second consecutive season.
Arizona (20-41-5) was eliminated from contention when it lost 6-1 to the Edmonton Oilers on Monday.
66 games into the season (82 games), and they are already mathematically eliminated from qualifying for this year’s playoffs? ! ?
So even if they WON their remaining 16 games they still could not collect enough points for even a wild card spot.
Guess they are now in the same company as the Montreal Canadians, and we might see two other teams join that list (Ottawa Senators and Seattle Kraken).
