Yeah, that game looks fucking awful lol. It’s one thing to start a discussion about female streamers and some things they have to endure from weirdos, but making a game out of it (especially the way they did it) completely misses the mark and will now be the butt of jokes. I just want to know who thought this was a good idea.

Wales Interactive has been making schlocky FMV games for years now. They, basically, make B-movies and attach video game mechanics to them. Girl Gamer is standard fair for them:  Take a basic premise, add in an attrative lady, and give the player choice over how certain scenes play out.
I do not understand the outrage.  It’s, literally, a 10-15 dollar game no one outside of the FMV community would have acknowledged if everyone didnt decide to “Reeee” over it.
I dont understand the outrage.  Especially considering it’s open ended. If it’s like previous Wales games,  you’re actions will decide the outcome of the story. Meaning if you want the girl to have a horrible fate, she will.
Besides that, it appears to be attacking the simp culture Twitch thots thrive on. I thought most people believed fewer simps empowering these people is a good thing.
Personally, as someone that enjoys B-movie schlock, I cant wait to try it.  Wales Interactive FMV games are always a good time for me.
I’m sure Wales will be happy with the fake outrage it will help it sell more because, now, people have actually heard of the game. Unlike every other title they have released. The hate buys alone will, probably, eclipse it’s sales of previous titles.

          Sounds dumb.

Doing the SIMS would be a more interesting story.

They’re trying really hard to force this narrative of “GAMERS BAD” narrative, huh…

          It's_All_So_Tiresome

          EDIT:
          LOL, even progressive-twitter hates it:

It’s always funny whenever stuff like this backfires.

(Why does editing a post result in it being outright deleted half the time? If it even post it the first time?)

            I dont see the issue.
Wales Interactive has been making schlocky no-budget B-movies and attaching video game mechanics to them for years. This is standard fair for them.  They take a basic premise, put a hot girl in it, surround her with bad actors, and let the player make a decision here and there.
Personally, as someone that enjoys everything I’ve played by the company so far, I’m interested.
I like schlocky B-movies and FMVs so I’m sure I will like this.
If it’s like every other game they’ve released, I will have narrative control to the point I can actively make sure the character has the worst outcome possible.
I really dont understand why people are so against a game that is calling out the simp culture that thots rely on. Especially when it gives complete narrative control to the player.
I’m sure Wales Interactive is happy as fuck, though.  The hate buys, alone, will make this their most successful title to date.
It’s a no budget B-movie FMV game that will cost 10-15 bucks on release that no one outside of the FMV community would have even glanced at that, somehow, is so controversial it is overshadowing The Last of Us 2. My guess is none of you have even heard of the publisher, even though, they have existed for years.
I’m just gonna go ahead and congratulate Wales Interactive on their most profitable release to date.
Their most recent release, The Complex, was really enjoyable (although, short) and I’m sure Gamer Girl will be as well, if you like FMV games or schlocky B-movies. It’s a niche game for a niche audience, just like every other title they release.
It was never intended to have broad appeal.

Then you know this game is right in line with the stuff they, typically, publish.
The only difference, this one is gonna make a lot more money than the others because people decided to put it in the spotline.
This isnt a case of TLOU2 or Last Jedi. Those were mainstream audiences where the studio decided to stick a knife in half it’s massive audience’s back.
This is a niche game in a very niche genre no one outside of that niche would have gave a second glance to.
It was just thrust into the mainstream eye and now they have their normal audience, hate buyers and people that are just curious.
This game is gonna be the biggest success they’ve ever seen for the same reason Super Seducer was successful.
It’s a game, literally, no one cares about. Over 99% of the people complaining about it were never gonna buy it because they would have never heard of it. Then, because of the fake hate, everyone heard about it. Super Seducer did so well they had a sequel out in 6 months.
I’m not gonna hear about some movie on the Hallmark Channel and then get pissed when the movie on the channel I had no intention on watching don’t appeal to me.
Butchering established franchises and insulting your audience is one thing. Making your own original IP for your niche fanbase is another.

I have no problem with this game, as of now (could change after I play it, obviously) but if you do have a problem with it, the best thing you could do is not talk about it.  Every time you mention it, you are, potentially, letting someone else know it exist.  Like I said, this is not the Last of Us,  it did not half enough mainstream influence to convince people outside the niche to go buy it.
              It does now.
