Gobots: The K-Mart Transformers

Did anyone else watch or collect Gobots? I was looking through my toy collection over the weekend and came across this. I had this as a kid, lost it over the years and then found it on eBay back in the early 2000s.

The Gobots brand really was absurd the longer it went on.

Instead of having Gobots that would merge like Constructicons, they had the Gobots put on exoskeleton like suits to combine into a larger bot.

Then there was the Gobot movie where they met the organic Gobots that turned into rocks…rocks…and they actually sold that shit to kids. I had some, but I got them for pennies at a school rummage sale. I never used them to play Gobots, though. The rock guys made great monsters in other toy games I’d come up with.

I enjoyed Gobots and Rock Lords. Collected them all when I was a kid.

I can’t remember where I heard the term “the K-Mart Transformers” (probably one of the I Love the 80s shows) but I thought it was funny and it just stuck in the back of my head. Plus it grabs attention.

I had the rockazaur, but lost it when following my parents in a sort of shot for garden mini house or a shite like this
