    ‘Harry Potter’ stars face online criticism for reunion

    The Harry Potter franchise remains a major cash cow for Warner Bros., so it’s no surprise that there’s a cast reunion in the works.

    So anything to keep that going is a good thing for their BOTTOM LINE!

    On Jan. 1… will air TV special celebrating the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the (Philosopher’s) Stone.

    Has it been twenty years?  WOW!

    …the Harry Potter anniversary special will feature interviews with numerous cast members including the franchise’s three leads: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint. However J.K. Rowling’s name was notably absent from the announcement. She’ll appear in archival footage, but won’t record any new material for the reunion.

    So the person who CREATED it all, will not be allowed to say anything.  What woke censorship!

    The response to the reunion is mixed, to say the least. Some people either don’t care about Rowling’s politics, or find it easy to separate the art from the artist. There’s a lot of genuine excitement over the anniversary!

    As it should be.

    We are celebrating its anniversary!

    And the joy the novels and films gave us.

    This is NOT an event about the personal or political beliefs of the creator, the actors, the directors, etc.

    It is about the creation!

    Sadly, some people can’t do that.  For them everything is about politics and virtue signaling and woke agenda.

    Well, the majority of people do NOT agree with those policies and agendas.

    Twenty years😳??? I suddenly feel old 😭. I can remember seeing it when it originally came out. I hadn’t realised until recently but the scene in the Forbidden Forrest with the unicorn and Voldemort…I swear I heard a bit of the ‘Imperial March’ being played during that scene😅! I hope it’s on a channel that I can watch in the UK but knowing my luck it won’t happen🙄.

    HBO Max.

    I don’t think we’ve got HBO Max here in the UK sadly.

    The attack on J.K. Rowling’s world of Harry Potter continues;

    ‘Harry Potter’ sport quidditch to change name

    US Quidditch and Major League Quidditch announced in a joint news release Wednesday that they will conduct a series of surveys over the next few months to decide on a new name for the sport, which resembles soccer and field hockey, but as a contact sport with broomsticks.

    They profited off the name as long as they could, it seems.

    The leagues say there are a few reasons for the name change. Among them is that the name “quidditch” is trademarked by Warner Bros., which produced the “Harry Potter” movies, and as a result the sport’s expansion has been limited in its sponsorship and broadcast opportunities.

    The name change is also part of an effort by the leagues to “distance themselves from the works of J.K. Rowling…

    So you still want to play a game created by J.K. Rowling and distance yourself at the same time?  What an oxymoronic statement that is!

    @Legatus_Legionis

    I’m guessing these SJW’s are upset over this because they know that anything that they’ve currently created won’t be remembered as fondly in 20 years time! Despite what the media wants to argue and say otherwise, I still know a LOT of people who like the films and read the books (I’m one of them. Rereading ‘Deathly Hallows’ at the moment and watched ‘Goblet of Fire’ last night which is my favourite from the books and films because of the dragon😂). They too think that this is an overreaction by Twitter.

      Another day, another outrage. And people wonder why I don’t socialize…

      Humanity is just utterly pathetic anymore.

      J.K. Rowling Says No to Being a 2nd Class Woman!

      George The Giant Slayer

      Harry Potter author JK Rowling is fighting for women not to be relegated back to the dark ages as second class citizens before feminism’s hard fought and hard won battles for equality and self determination. Rowling is also battling to stop the resurrection of modern day witch trials which shame the powerless and cancel the rights of all women for standing up to be heard, counted and treated as equals!

      @comicsgate

      Rowling is spot on in this. Look at what’s happening in sports, especially after the Tokyo Olympics. Yes Trans athletes should be allowed to compete in sports but they should have their OWN category! It wouldn’t surprise me that come a few years from now a lot of sports women are going to be complaining like mad about not being able to beat that new weightlifting record unless they take loads of steroids! I’m guessing that the reason why there isn’t one is so that they don’t have to work hard in order to achieve something that can be worthwhile in the end.

      Meanwhile, in the UK we’ve got clothing stores like Primark and M+S putting in gender neutral toilets and changing rooms. Not ONE woman I know is happy about this as they no longer feel safe in some of these places. There’ve already been incidents that aren’t as wildly reported as they should be because of this.

      I support the LGBT+ community but at the same time, we women should also have the right to feel safe in clothing stores, public toilets and schools.

      Of course, it would be on Sky🙄…

      I’m suddenly feeling very old😢. It’s a shame that Helen McCory (who did Draco Malfoy’s mother) died several months ago and won’t be a part of this😢. I can’t remember if I saw Robert Patterson on the list but I’m going to guess that he probably isn’t on as he’s too busy running around in Gotham City at the moment😂.

      Clearly WB is behind most of this🙄.

      I don’t know anyone who actually likes the ‘Fantastic Beasts’ films. I saw the trailer for the first one and I thought…well, my original thoughts will have to be censored 😂but I wasn’t impressed with what I saw. Never read the ‘Fantastic Beasts’ books either. No interest in them. My sister has read the first book and despite enjoying the book, she hated the film. I’ve not asked her what she thought of the second one but I feel sorry for Mads who is going to get a backlash for this. Fantastic actor who doesn’t deserve the backlash that the third film is going to get.

      @DragonLady Good posts on this thread. No one is safe from this encroaching menace. The LGBTQ+ community is being used as cover to open a Pandora’s box for the mentally ill to assault people. It’s all over and at every strata. This is why youth like Kyle Rittenhouse and the Pizza teenage kid are heroes for fighting back against criminals since the supposed defenders and protectors are not getting it done anymore. If the trans thing is an issue in women’s sports and women start losing every contest, what is the state of your police and military once they become woke? JK Rowling has my respect for holding the line on gender and defending women.

      The Reunion video does nothing for me. Nostalgia hits me at times, in different ways, but in movies, you really see age and time become a factor. You can’t really go back. I’ve been chuckling at the videos regarding the new Matrix movie and they are spot on. It looks off. Last Jedi looked off. Further Potter could work if they came back as teachers and had to encounter a new generation of young, talented students with their own marks and abilities. As for Fantastic Beasts, I remember kind of liking it because it reminded me a little bit of Laurel and Hardy in the Wizarding World with the chubby sidekick guy, but it reminded me nothing of Harry Potter. Movies became things I just wanted to get through and get over with. Entertainment became more of an endurance challenge in patience than an event I used to look forward to. Every once in a while, one can say that yes, it was a good experience. Those are becoming more rare. I don’t care about the cast as much, just as long as the story and the writing is there and something special is achieved. Depp may be missed, but Ezra is unbearable. Have no real opinion on Mads and agree with previous comments that he wasn’t imposing in past roles.

      Thanks for the posts. It’s interesting to hear from women on this topic. If females banded together, there’s nothing they can’t do, so it’s really interesting to see so much fear over the trans thing, the mask thing and the vaccines. You’d think folks would not go along with it.

      Except for JK Rowling, the silence of other women sends a message that, as long as a man misgenders himself, it’s ok to molest or assault women. Just as long as that trans caveat is there, it’s ok. This is why one must roll their eyes at “sexual harassment in the metaverse.” https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2021/dec/18/metaverse-new-venue-sexual-harassment-facebook

      That is an issue? As women lose opportunities in their own sports, metaverse harassment is important? Saw the same thing with John Campea lately. Guess some comments section talked about how hot and attractive his new co-host was? This lady came out of nowhere. Hollywood is rife with perversion at the highest levels from people John grovels to, but some online comments are the problem? Real harassment at CNN and movie studious but Campea waves his finger at youtube?

      This is why when you hear about “women in STEM” or Ivanka talke about “Business for women”, that’s all just talk until the trans shows up and then, the grievance pecking order sets in. Sick of the virtue-signaling and lame socialites.
