@tariqari, the cat avatar is Gatomon from Digimon, and i have 4 cats 🐱🐱🐱🐱 all adopted, 3 of which were abandoned by my neighbours

Also good luck with your Sci-Fi film, hope it’s a success 😸 I’m actually an actress (well, working on becoming one), so when it’s time for casting if you like, maybe put an ad up here on G+G, and hopefully lockdowns’ll be over and i’ll be sure to check it out (sorry, just some shameless self promotion 😜)

@digicat I tried to like digimon when I was younger but Pokemon consumed my life. So much so that my parents eventually banned me from playing it (tcg).

Four cats?! How old are they? The cat from my picture, her name was Maya and her sister was Mira. Named her after the bounty hunter from KOTOR II lol. They both died last year. Wish I could make that less sad sounding. I’d like to get a new cat but I’m pretty much a disaster at this point that I don’t think I could properly care for one. The struggle is real and gets harder by the second lol.

That’s cool about the acting! How and when did you get into that?

          Aww 😿😿

          My cats ages, 15, 11, 10 & 8

How i got into acting? I’ve always loved to act since i was a kid, but when i really figured out i wanted to do it as a job i was 18, full story, i was actually watching Thor after having a really shitty day, had been crying my eyes out, was still in tears when the movie started, then slowly the tears disappeared, and i remember the exact scene i was watching, when Thor’s going to get Mjolnir back from S.H.I.E.L.D., and he hears thunder, and he just has the biggest smile on his face, and watching that scene made me smile too, Thor managed to cheer me up when nothing, no one else could, i guess i want to act hoping that one day i could cheer people up and help them thru a tough time too 😊

That’s amazing! Do you have a linkedin?

Movies are so powerful. They alter the courses of our lives and thus the course of history. For me with Directing, it was Star Wars. Back then there wasn’t even special editions to call it a new hope or anything lol. It was simply Star Wars. And while it felt so distant in a galaxy far far away…it felt close and intimate. Like Luke was part of my family somehow lol. The Skywalker story (the real one…) hits too close to home. The books and games carried me through some otherwise unpassable chapters of my life. Don’t know if anyone’s ever seen Heroes but there is a character on that show whos art work predicted the lives of those around him and that has eerily been the case for me. Life imitates art. Right?

I’m glad Star Wars helped you out 😸 It helped me out a lot too growing up, though growing up in the prequel and Clone Wars era for me it was Anakin Skywalker, I see him like an older brother

              What’s linkedin? 😅

Haha that’s funny about Anakin. I grew up in the same era and sadly just felt like I was Anakin…so I guess I needed to cling to Luke because he was more ideal :P

Linkedin is Business Networking :D You can showcase your work, talents, skills, proficiencies, and connections. Before Lynda.com got bought out by Linkedin, I used Lynda to learn Maya, 3dsmax, blender, Premier Pro, Adobe Audition, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Media Encoder, among others. Now you can prove it with Linkedin learning though I dont think my Lynda certs transfered… *shrug*

You should make one! It will help a lot building connections and you’d be surprised what level of access to people you can have. It’s an incredibly great motivator.

Thanks, I’ll be sure to check out linkedin 😸

For me, I didn’t feel like I was Anakin, but I do feel like I’m quite similar to him character wise, which is why I can really relate to and look up to him… yeah he’s probably not the best role model 😅 but I guess in a way seeing him as that I also learned from his mistakes, so I shouldn’t be going to the dark side ant time soon 😁

Check out the app Backstage too. You can find jobs on both platforms (recruiters hunt on Linkedin…careful of spammy messages). Backstage is aimed at people like us. Entertainment professionals. You’ve got a wide range from Student films that will pay nothing to NBC Universal Casting. Modeling. Acting. Performing arts including Broadway and LOCAL theater productions. I want to get more active and serious about my work. Let me know how those work out for you if you try them :D

I understand that lol. For me it was the story of how he lost everything and how he wound up. It’s a really dark place to be in and I’ve learned, you never truly escape. I just try to make the best out my situation.

Thanks so much 😸 Where I am there’re some similar sites I use, but everything’s kinda shut down now, will check out Backstage, and hopefully this crazyness ends soon and travel starts up again

That’s hard I know :/ I’m in Florida and everything is wide open here O.o mixed feelings on that but I’m a pro mask person anyway so hopefully I’m fine :)

I’m not stopping business for this. For me it’s go go go. I can take precautions and do the distancing and that seems to be working. All the studios I know of are staying in business and adapting. And that’s how I need to be doing things.

I’ve kinda made it a point not to post any of my personal or work information on the forums 😅, I don’t even post anything that’d give away my location (I don’t want people in my real life who aren’t my friends reading the forums and reeeeing at me for being here, I can’t really deal with that right now), but if there’s anything you’d like to know for work you can send me a private message any time you like, I’ll be glad to help if I can

big off topic (we could make a pets thread and talk there lol) but aren’t cats much easier to take care of? :P

tariqari I think you can handle having a new cat, and probably would be good for you, since you like them =)

I’m a dog person, but sometimes I help taking care of friend’s cats when they have to leave for a couple of weeks. It’s so easy compared to dogs lol  I just don’t quite trust them, cats have an evil side and I don’t mess with that… xD sometimes I want to pet them but they will suddenly snap and attack, fuck that xD lol

My dog is awesome, but in the beginning we struggled a lot because he had separation anxiety (because of being abandoned by others) and he was only 5 months old. But we trained him and now he’s a good boy, 3 years old and always happy. =)  Doesn’t destroy anything and waits to go outside. It wasn’t easy, but with proper care and time everything is possible.

One of my dreams is to create an organization to help abandoned animals, we would have a big space just for dogs and cats (separated ofc lol). But it’s a long stretch…

@digicat Okay! Ill pm in a bit.

Yessssss! Need a pets thread :D

I’m spoiled because I was 15 when my mom adopted our two bengals :/ They are spasy and i cant imagine not having energetic cats like them so I do wanna get a new bengal kitten :) Maybe a 2nd non bengal kitten too?

I’ve never had a pup but (spoiled self) id want a husky :D not just because Im from Connecticut but more realistically id like a wolf and pretty sure they’re illegal lol. So Husky is a close second :D

Oh and my cats were like dogs basically. You couldnt leave them and they need checking in on or to be stayed with. I loved them so much.

Aww that’s so sad about your dog :( Im glad it worked out :D And that’s an amazing goal!! I dont think it’s a stretch at all. Building a pet sanctuary would be a wonderful thing. Id like to help with that :D
