So here is fun science fiction question I want to ask everyone here.
You somehow go into a parallel universe that is similar to our universe but the technology is about 200 years more advanced than ours meaning they have flying cars, robots and other cool stuff like that.
You end up in a street corner like the one you know from your own universe but it looks like something from a Sci Fi futuristic property like Star Trek or something.
You walk around awhile then a beautiful mysterious woman you never met before along with a child that looks a bit like you that you also never met before run up to you. The mysterious beautiful woman hugs you and begins kissing you then says “Thank God!!!! You’re alive!!!!! You’re actually alive!!!!!”
You freak out a bit and the mysterious beautiful woman is confused why you pulled away from her? You then tell her you never seen her before, she then says you’re crazy because you and her had been married for the last 10 years and that child next to her is your and her….son.
You then say you’re not married to her and you don’t have a kid with her then the woman that claims to be your wife pulls out a mini holo device that is small enough to fit into her palm and a holo photo appears along with a bunch of other holo photos and….they have pictures of you…or someone who looks exactly like you in everyway in the pictures with this woman dating, going on vacation together, a bunch of photos of you and her along with your family and her family meeting, and finally you two having a wedding then having that son together.
You don’t know what to believe as the photos look damning then you along with the woman and her child go to some doctor that does a DNA test that proves 100% that the child is the child you had with this woman from this universe.
You don’t believe it…the child is yours that you had with this mysterious beautiful woman.
Eventually you and this woman that claims to be your wife and mother of your child discover that you are not her beloved husband but…..his parallel counterpart from another universe where it is 200 years less advanced than her universe, in your universe you come from the woman who claims to be your wife….doesn’t even exist there and she was never even born in yours so you never met her, and also your parallel self from this universe is dead.
From there you stare at each other for awhile and you see this woman is lonely, you feel a bit of attraction to her, she feels a great deal of attraction to you because you look exactly like her dead husband she misses dearly, you marvel at all the cool high tech stuff in this parallel universe that would make life way way easier and finally your parallel self before he died…….was a very very wealthy man with a trillion dollars.
What do you do?
Would you stay in this parallel universe where you get to be a very very wealthy man with near unlimited money that are in the trillions, everything there is Star Trek level type technology, you got an extremely beautiful woman that is your dead parallel self’s wife that knows you aren’t dead husband but his parallel counterpart she still wants you regardless of that fact that you only look like him and that is all, and you have a son that is you dead parallel self’s child that misses his dad like crazy and needs a father in his life even if it is a guy who looks like his dad but isn’t really him.
Or would you go back to your universe where you aren’t super wealthy, you have a world on the verge of World War 3 with all the crazy stuff going on in politics, you aren’t successful unlike your parallel self who is dead in the other universe and your life is not as perfect as your parallel self.
Would it be wrong to let your self replace your dead parallel universe self even if it would make your life easier?
