After viewing @Roas vid, it gave me a few questions:
As Spider-man No Way Home comes out before Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness…
Well, the Spidey cartoons already introduced a multiverse of Spideys, it got me asking:
How many multi-verses is in Marvel Comics and the MCU.
Wiki lists some 40 separate universes for Marvel.
But since it numbers them up to 6 digits, does that mean there are almost 1 Million possible marvel universes?
For comparison, DC Comics has their 52 known universes, their anti-universe, limbo, and the god realms like Apokolips or New Genesis.

“The Multiverse is a concept about which we know frighteningly little.” Watch the official teaser for Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Only in theaters May 6.
Not sure what I think on this one, especially after the recent Disney MCU failures. Even though Doctor Strange 2 is the only Phase 4 film I want to watch as well as ‘No Way Home’.
@DragonLady Yeah, I know you are a fan. One comment said it looks like the What IF installment with the evil Dr. Strange. Some critics say time travel is usually when the writers are out of ideas. The Multiverse might be the same way, but for me, the tell of a cop-out is when they double up the leading role and the character has to fight himself. You saw it in Logan with evil clone Wolverine and I think a Will Smith movie too, because we just can’t get enough of the main star, I guess.
One thing I did like was the Scarlet Witch levitating over fire while sitting Indian-style. I always like that zen pose. Iconic, just like the crouch-landing superhero pose.
I like fans, regardless and many times, learn more from them than from the movies themselves. xdax was ripping on new Matrix, but said it was fairly good. If you wanna see something, by all means, check it out. My thing was X-Men, so I went to most of those movies. That was Sony, too. You have a point about Marvel. Marvel set the bar so high with past movies. You’d think after a 50 year history, that they’d have at least a few more runs for a character apart from their origin story. Easier said than done, making a solid movie.
I was really pleased to see the Scarlet Witch finally in her comic-book outfit. I believe the reason why she had to have a costume change was that it wasn’t practical for combat. I always preferred the Scarlet Witch over Quicksilver in the comics. Unfortunately I think the whole time-travel thing is going to confuse a lot of people. I know a lot of people that said that that was what put them off from liking ‘Endgame’, myself included. ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ handled that better than in ‘Endgame’ because they gave a reason why it ended up being Wolverine and not Kitty going back in time. They also did artificial intelligence better than ‘Age of Ultron’.
The X-Men was actually FOX, hence why the studio got bought-out by Disney because the fan-boys wanted the X-Men and Fantastic Four in the MCU without realising what the consequences would be for FOX produced films. I’m still convinced to this day that Disney brought FOX out of spite because they didn’t like the fact that at the time FOX’s X-Men films were doing better than their Avengers films, especially their 15 rated films like Deadpool and Logan.
The rumoured cameos for Dr Strange 2. Managed to do this screen shot from one of 3C Films’ vids this evening.
If this is true, then I’m all up for watching this😍
Knowing Tom Cruise, he’ll probably insist on flying around in a real Iron Man suit with jet packs attached to his arms and legs.
The idea of the multiverse has been done so much in recent years, but I’ve yet to see one I’ve really liked. Seems like the multiverse is where Hollywood goes to use all the ideas that wouldn’t fit in the original story.
No Way Home was absolutely great, but I don’t think we will be seeing much more of greatness like that again. Looking forward to Dr Strange 2. And………..nothing else from Marvel. Black Panther 2? Nope, hated the first once. Thor 4? Nope, hated Raganrok. The Marvels? Nope, hated Captain Marvel. Ant-Man 3? meh. Guardians 3, maybe, but we’ll see.
The multiverse is going to be away to re-write all the good things they did with the pre-Endgame movies into a woke agenda driven pile of trash. That’s my opinion. The singular woke left agenda has turned Hollywood into a propaganda camp the likes of which only N@zi- Germany could do. It’s funny how you hear people say “Never again”, but here we go….again, down the same path of mindwash.
Black Panther: Nope, never saw the first one. Got put off it when I felt like they were trying to make it woke. Which was sad because I really liked him on ‘Civil War’.
The Marvels: I had some slight interest in Captain Marvel but after I saw how wooden everyone’s acting looked on the first trailer, I was immediately turned off it.
Thor 4: Definitely NOT! I respect Portman as an actress but she doesn’t scream Lady Thor. I don’t care if Bale is the villain or if they bring back Loki; I won’t watch Thor basically being thrown under a bus. I actually liked ‘Ragnarok’ but I did have a bit of an issue with the forced humour.
Ant-Man 3: Wasn’t interested in the first so no interest here.
Guardians 3: No interest in them whatsoever.
Also barely interested in anything else MCU related after ‘Endgame’. Looking on in dread what they’re going to do the X-Men and Fantastic Four. Especially the X-Men.
I’ve made peace with the fact that I’m not going to get an actual X-Men movie in my lifetime. I liked some of the Fox ones. X2. First Class. I liked the Rogue Cut of Days of Future Past. However, those movies always felt like Wolverine and His Wacky Friends more than X-Men to me. All they have to do is a live action version of the 90’s cartoon and follow that format, or straight follow the Claremont run. The only X-Men that matter. You can make Kitty Pryde or Jubilee as your main point-of-view character too. Everyone would be happy with that. Unfortunately, that’s not what we’re going to get with Disney Marvel. They are going to skip over everything from the Claremont era when X-Men was at its height with popularity and merchandising, and go straight to whatever dumb bullshit they are doing in the comics now.
If the rumors about all these multiverse cameos are true, than In the Multiverse of Madness is learning the wrong lessons from No Way Home. All these crossover/variant characters are smoke and mirror tactics used to hide bad storytelling. They are dangling keys, relying on cheap tactics to get people into seats. We’ve seen this before in The Mandalorian and recently in The Book of Boba Fett.
Additionally, they are probably going to ruin most of these characters. I have a feeling they are going to make Tom Cruise’s Iron Man a villain. Maybe In the Multiverse of Madness could be good. However, they turned Doctor Strange and Wong into irresponsible idiots in No Way Home. And Wanda into a unforgivable, evil psychopath. The film doesn’t exactly have a strong foundation, character wise.
I had a feeling that that was going to be the case with Doc 2 with all these cameos. Sad really because I would’ve liked to have seen Ioan back as Mr Fantastic (I don’t care for the 2015 version of the F4. Even the 2005 version is better than that trash) and Tom as an alternate Iron Man.
e seeing much more of greatness like that again. Looking forward to Dr Strange 2. And………..nothing else from Marvel. Black Panther 2? Nope, hated the first once. Thor 4? Nope, hated Raganrok.
why didn’t you like Black Panther and Thor Ragnarøk? I think they’re top tier MCU movies and the ratings agree
Gossip news said that they might have Daniel Radcliffe of Harry Potter be Wolverine? That would ruin the character forever.
