Missouri governor pardons gun-waving St. Louis lawyer couple

O’FALLON, Mo. (AP) — Missouri Gov. Mike Parson announced Tuesday that he made good on his promise to pardon a couple who gained notoriety for pointing guns at social justice demonstrators as they marched past the couple’s home in a luxury St. Louis enclave last year.

As they never should have been charged with protecting their GATED community and home from “mostly peaceful” demonstrators.

The McCloskeys, both lawyers in their 60s, said they felt threatened by the protesters, who were passing their home in June 2020 …

The couple also said the group was trespassing on a private street.

Glad justice finally prevailed in this case.

Speaking as an Australian, this situation is a good example of why I’m always screaming in my mind “don’t do it!” whenever anyone in the US suggests implementing gun laws similar to what we have, because the ultimate result of that would be anyone who uses a gun in self defence being treated like the McCloskeys, in NSW a few years ago the police confiscated a man’s rifle for pointing it at an intruder while it was unloaded, all because “his license says nothing about protection”, I really hate how these days  the world we live in gives criminals more freedom than everyday civilians.

Good news. They did nothing wrong. In fact, one reason for the firearms is that I heard in 90% of cases, if the weapon is drawn, the criminals will back off. They were clearly protecting their property and they were lucky. When those mobs and riots first started, I was amazed at the destruction. I never want to be in one of those. It was around that time, too but the footage I saw was at night.

This is not that great of news. I mean , yes, good for them for sure but they should not have been charged in the first place. The left LOVES to set precedent and then refer to it later on. The fact they were charged will be used again and again.

I really hate how these days  the world we live in gives criminals more freedom than everyday civilians.

      It is a bizarro world.

People are guilty until proven innocent (so many false accusations, using rumours to destroy a person’s life and reputation).

People no longer taking responsibility for their own actions (it is society’s fault a criminal stole a gun, used it to commit crimes/murder, etc.)

Using mental “issues” to get out of being guilty of a crime instead of being guilty, but do to your mental issues, the sentence is lesser.  Now temporary “insanity” is an excuse to literally get away with murder.  And by not having them getting medical treatment, they can snap again and again.

This case should never been brought an in truth, the Governor and Reps should be looking to disbar the district Attorney for bringing it an removal of the judge as well.

        Why you ask:

        Missouri’s Castle Doctrine

The use of force to defend one’s self is justified when the person believes there is a certain risk of death, or great physical harm. This also applies when someone is trying to break into an occupied vehicle or home. There is no duty to treat inside one’s home or vehicle.

The people Had ever right to defend their property, their lives, their neighbors lives, based off current events. These Included Looting, Arson and Murder.

However the POS AG used the Retreat section to bring the charges. This part the Legislature needs to remove immediately.

It was also because the potential “rioters” were with a protected group (blm/antifa) who is allowed to go and do whatever they want without worry of prosecutions.

I can’t recall anyone charged during all the riots and burning and looting of a crime.

But someone not woke protecting their property and their lives…. CHARGE THEM!

This partisan application of the law IS discrimination and illegal, IMO.

Activist DA’s and activist judges have no place in the judicial system.  They are putting ideology over the rule of law.

        Defended their home from rioters.

This should have happened 8 months ago.
