I’d love to hit a drive-in theater. Used to LOVE those things. Really sad that they’re so hard to find now. Watching The Empire Strikes Back on a big, outdoor screen would have been epic beyond words.
Last Sunday, watched the entire LotR trilogy. Sunday before that, the entire Hobbit trilogy. It was fantastic, just letting go of everything for so many hours. Even with the retarded Hollywood malarkey shoe-horned into the movies, they failed to ruin the original Tolkien stories. Still have Back to the Future to watch. Really need to pick up the OT and PT Star Wars and binge on those. Haven’t had access to them in years. If anyone knows how to get ahold of a good copy, preferably with as little of the “updated” crap as possible, please let me know. Watched Ad Astra a few weeks ago for the first time. It was a surprisingly good movie, especially for a modern movie and even with the climate/resource retardation as the foundation of the story.
Pop culture matters. It can reveal the pulse of a nation in a way that is also entertaining. When done right, it reminds us of our humanity and what we’re capable of. Time to pick up some more classic movies, especially during this fake crisis. Too much dang free time. Modern Hollyweird is too far gone for me.
