Pretty interesting overall.  I find it weird the attack on the NFL for “Redskins” given how intertwined the beginning of the NFL was native Americans.

We always knew the name was given by the Native Americans.  The logo was designed by a Native America.

But is was a leftoid/Karen who was offended on behalf of Native Americans who (with Nike) forced the name/logo change.

Where I live, all the Natives LOVE teams with such names/logos.  They proudly wear those logos all the time.

      Redskins, Braves, Blackhawks, etc.

This goes to a point I made in another thread some time back.

If you were to never open a newspaper, turn on a TV or look at a website and you went to a store and noticed that Aunt Jemima was gone, Uncle Ben was gone, and the Redskins shirts now said “Commanders” with a giant “W” as a logo.

I am sure you would consider racism a possibility and would probably wonder how so many white supremacists got control of so many large companies.

PS – I am going to start the rumor the “W” for the Washington Commanders logo actually is an abbreviation for “White Power”.  :P

Fight racism with racism. Wonderful idea coming from the left🙄. “We can’t have the Butter Maiden on the packaging of butter because it’s racist and sexist!” I would’ve thought it was racist in general to remove a harmless pic of a Native American woman on the front of a food packaging 🙄…

A relative of mine played for the Redskins generations ago, before modern helmets.

I have only met a few Natives and the ones I met were very patriotic with their own views. One time, I met a lady who was one who was adopted by Irish parents and grew up doing that sword dancing. I asked her if she ever went to a Pow Wow and her husband said, “What’s that?” and she laughed in jest because I guess they go to them all the time. I’ve never been to one.

When I visited the Grand Canyon, the elders were out on the land, but the girl working the booth inside had a beaming smile and was super kind.

Also, don’t forget that Native American Jim Thorpe was considered one of the best athletes to have ever live.
Jim Thorpe played football, baseball and went to the Olympics.
It’s a shame the Cleveland Indians became the Cleveland Guardians. The fact that so many names of teams are about Natives is due to their power. The war drums and the riding and the hunting. Like mighty creatures or predators, the image of the Native was meant to inspire competition.

It seems to me that as it relates to the Native Americans and the USA the ONLY thing people think about is the conflict.  None of that matters as it was 200+ years ago that it all started and there is nothing you can do to erase the history of one nation conquering another which at that time was common.

What is still relevant and ongoing today is the fact that American History is forever deeply intertwined with Native American history.  We should not forget that, in fact we should celebrate it.  Should American Indians be proud to be Americans? Overall yes.  Should they love and celebrate their heritage as well?  Without a doubt.

Now if you want to try to frame all that simply as evil white Europeans kill, convert and conquer a peaceful nature loving civilization you can.  But that’s a historical lie.  Were some Natives peaceful?  Sure.  Were many happy to conquer, kill, torture and enslave competing tribes?  Absolutely.  And just as we do not condemn them for that because it was their culture and a product of the times so should we not condemn America for the same reasoning.

At the end of the day we cannot erase the past.  It is what it is for all involved.  If you want to celebrate Native American or American Indian culture absolutely do it as that’s a beautiful thing. But trying to “help” them by erasing public references to their influence on our collective culture  is counterproductive.  If you really want to help, stop Tweeting about the Redskins football team name and go assist the reservations in conquering their alcohol, drug and suicide problems. Those folks ABSOLUTELY need help and they deserve it.  But since folks cannot churn virtue signals into donations over those poor folks no one bothers.

Some of the people of Appalachia are the descendants of white slaves that fled and ran into the mountains to live with Native Americans rather than work clearing the trees and the land.
Some tribes were helpful, while others, like the Iroquois, would scalp you, cook you and eat you.

There was such poverty back then, that men of all backgrounds many times were conscripted into the military and they would have huge pitched battles with Indians. With a lot of boys in poverty, they were put into situations were it was like fight or perish.

Native American culture is yes, intertwined with ours. People talked about the Tomahawk missile or the Apache helicopter. You don’t name weapons and teams after lazy slouches. Agree with the point about how it does not help to change and remove names. In fact, Natives should say, not only should we keep Native team names and native mascots, but they should sponsor Pow wows before the game. Maybe even halftime. Anything to get rid of the demonic pop divas that make me cringe.

Anything to get rid of the demonic pop divas…

That statement says WHY they will not get rid of their demonic pop artists/celebrations.

They hate our diverse past, history, ethnic backgrounds.

One world (NWO) under their extremely toxic far alt left DEMonic NPC programming.

Where you cannot celebrate other cultures, etc.

They want the DEMonic to be the norm, and anything that celebrates or recognizes something other than THEIR agenda/narrative is to be destroyed.

I do hope they get their name and logo and mascots back, and the licensed merchandiser CANNOT refuse to produce and sell it (like what NIKE did before).

Has anyone heard of the update with Ben and Jerry controversy after the natives asked for their land back?

I laughed harder than I should when the natives got in Ben and Jerry’s face for their shit wrecked for trying to demand everyone else return their land.

They just shut up when it happened to them and ignored the natives. Another prime example of “rules for thee, not for me” from the liberal degenerates.

@Salvince that is called “virtue signaling”.  where they talk big when it makes them look good, but then have no intention of personally following thru on it.

Talk is cheap, and boy do those virtue signaling baffoons love to talk the talk, but can’t walk the walk.

All say and no action.  To do as they say, so long as someone else has to do it and not them personally.

I’m surprised this lot didn’t whine and complain about the Native Americans being werewolves in the ‘Twilight’ franchise. I wonder if on the reboot they’ll get edited out so as not to “offend” people 🙄…

Erasing the current culture/regime in real-time and historically is something often done by communists or just most ideological regimes when they take over.  This happened with Mao in China and still happens today.  I know it’s even occurred recently in the middle east as regimes go back and forth over different areas.

Washington Redskins partner with Bud Light.

I despise the NFL and the “Commaders” and Bud light.
            Will not watch. Ever again.
It’s been bad for over a decade with crummy halftime shows and very bizarre imagery. Years ago, I went to a party and even the commercials were no longer entertaining nor funny and they were very transhuman.

I cut it off for life a long time ago. Bud Light and people who push it, like Joe Rogan, are disloyal to normal humans. I’m straight. I’ll say it as many times as it has to be said, I am straight. When you push trans or gender stuff on me, you are pushing me away and I will push back. Simple as.

Personally I identify as “super straight”.

This is so true.  Where folks once asked for acceptance they now demand compliance. They found success by asking and then just kept going as people continued to cede ground.

Now we have ceded so much ground that the extremists demand access to your children and consider the mental illness of gender dysphoria a positive personality trait that should be spread to all.

To demand understanding or acceptance while being completely unwilling to extend the same is hypocritical and therefore disingenuous.

“When I am weaker Than you, I ask you for Freedom because that is according to your principles; when I am Stronger than you, I take away your Freedom Because that is according to my principles.”

Erasing the current culture/regime in real-time and historically is something often done by communists …

Well, alot of the extremely toxic far alt left ARE calling for socialism… marxism… which is… COMMUNISM! since they are COMMUNISTS!

The west fought a Cold War to stop the spread of such evil.

Now, the woke west is openly pushing for communism.

And by hating the Great Experiment what is the Democratic Republic Of The United States of America, its history of freedoms, self determination, limited government, the Constitution and its Amendments, etc.

Divide and Conquer, using misdirection/mob rule, to control you.

Communists distort/erases history to fit their agenda/narrative and NOT facts nor real history.

So if people don’t know nor talk about Native Americans, then their culture does not exists is how this communists want it.  They are offended that there are other cultures, ones they cannot control/dominate.
