Right now it’s a close race between the Montreal Canadiens, the Calgary Flames, and the Vancouver Canucks. Montreal seems to have the most momentum going into this final stretch of games for the regular season. With that said, Calgary has also been playing well lately, and with Vancouver having so many games in hand, anything can happen. As of right now I think Montreal will probably be able o squeeze in, assuming Vancouver plays terrible and Calgary loses half of their games left. Who do you think has the best chance at that last playoff spot in the North Division? playoff race north

I have to do with Montreal keeping their 4th place.

Calgary has no guts, grit, lacks leadership, and is not a playoff team.

Vancouver will be too worn out playing so many games in such a short period of time in a playoff “must win”, I don’t think they have the mental/physical ability.

Montreal, so long as they don’t f-up, it is their’s.

I still can’t believe Montreal has not been able to claim the last spot yet.

It is almost feels like they would rather NOT be in the playoffs than face their rivals from Toronto.

You would think they would LOVE to play against the Maple Leafs…. guess they would rather not be in the playoffs than lose to the leafs.

Lol it happens. The update is Montreal just made the playoffs a couple days ago. Go root for the hometown team Krista haha

Yay, it will be the Toronto Maple Leafs versus the Montreal Canadiens in the first round.

This will add to the long term rivalry between the original six teams.

Sadly for Habs fans, I have to say it will be Toronto winning the series easily.

Edmonton Oilers will face the Winnipeg Jets, in another case where I think the series will be on-sided.

    Oilers should win this series.

I feel like both match-ups can be close. Toronto has had trouble in recent years making it out of the first round. The Oilers on the other hand, I can see them struggling against the Jets if Hellebuyck gets hot. Both series should be super fun to watch. I do agree with you though, if I had to make my picks, I’m taking Leafs and Oilers to win their match-ups.
