The demand for this franchise is pretty high 🍄
June 13, 2020 at 2:22 pm #160093I have to admit, as HUGE a fan I am of the N64 Paper Mario and Thousand Year Door on the Gamecube, I’m not particularly hyped for this one. They’ve made the mistake several times now of making the gameplay some gimmicky bullshit departure from what worked and SOLD (the aforementioned titles). I don’t understand why repeating what has proven to work is rocket science to Nintendo sometimes.

Tbh I don’t like how the battle system looks like, don’t think i will get this.
June 13, 2020 at 7:43 pm #160465I’m very cautious. I loved the original N64 game, Thousand Year Door, and Super Paper Mario. But Sticker Star was terrible, and Color Splash while an improvement, was still very underwhelming.
At the very least, Origami King doesn’t seem to have anything that’s leaving me saying “Not this **** again”, but It’s definitely not a day 1 buy for me. I do like that they’ve brought partners back (though I wish they were more visually distinct, Mario is being followed by the most generic of generic Bob-ombs at one point).
