This is a lesson for all of us. For myself, I think that Amazon really chomped a toenail off. We will no longer look “to the cloud” for magnificent answers, to solve all of our resource issues, forever endless storage. We are now back in reality. We are grounded. If the desire is to build an internet application, then either multi-platform it, or create it yourself.
I agree with the other folks here. This is a Communistic-Fascism approach to do things. Why are they doing this? Because it worked in THEIR country.
I doubt it will work here.
Just look at all of the alternatives that have sprouted up. 90% of these sites I never knew existed. I now have accounts on several of them — all in a matter of HOURS.
Expect them to become more hostile. They are watching, in real time, their entire business implode as all of us leave. How are you going to explain that to the boss?
