SAG-AFTRA Says No More Picketing at Universal Until Studio Adds Concrete Barriers

SAG-AFTRA told members on Monday that there will be further official picket lines at Universal until the studio adds cement barriers, or K-rails, outside its main Lankershim Blvd. entrance.

“Picketing at Universal is suspended until they provide a truly safe option for our members,” the guild said…

So, you want them to provide you a safer way to protest against THEM?

“As safety on the picket lines is always our number one priority, we have determined that until NBCUniversal installs the K-rails we’re insisting on, we cannot safely picket at NBCUniversal.”

Why not do it yourself?  After all, it is you and your members we are picketing.

NBCUniversal said in a statement last week that it has added “temporary walking paths and expanded shaded rest areas” while it waits for city approval to add K-Rails on Lankershim Blvd., a move that was recommended by the LAPD back in June after it examined how the construction fences had impacted the ability of WGA members to hold picket lines.

I still do not think it is the responsibility of the business to do that.  Why it is nice Universe did that, I think it is the union who needs to get the permits and pay for the safety measures for their members… and NOT the business you are picketing.

Next thing you know, the unions will demand workers at those companies NOT on strike (still getting pay cheques) to picket on company time so they don’t have to, so they can be safely at home/demanding their union reps to negotiate and get them OFF the picket line.

But no!  Picketing is more important getting a deal done.

They sure have their priorities start.

    Sorry, not sorry you commies.

    Your work produces crap!

I have no SIMP-athy for you, your striking members, the reason you are on strike.

You are all overpaid for the lack of quality you are putting out.

You are failing to create a product consumers want to buy.

According to reports, DISNEY will be known for this summer as the biggest losers, as it is set to lose close to ONE BILLION USD from their movies this year, thanks in part to the horrible writing/stories and acting by your members.

IMO, stay on strike.  You are not being missed.

Let them strike forever and let Hollywood fall apart.  It’s just a propaganda machine at this point anyway.  It would make more money just by being a licensing hub selling control to actual entertainment from previous decades then churning out triple A garbage.

Actual free markets detest a vacuum. The only reason there has not been a massive wave of independent media making actual entertainment is because we don’t actually have a free market.  But in spite of that, new things are rising.  I hope they grasp tighter to control as those new shoots come through the dirt because it will hasten Hollywood’s dissolution.
