People are already speculating that Shiver is non-binary because she doesn’t have gendered pronouns in a lot of translations. Mostly in French and Spanish, but it’s quite concerning that Nintendo, a company that doesn’t bend the knee to the woke SJW mob so much, is keeping Shiver’s gender a secret. However, there are some languages that Shiver does use she/her pronouns. While not explicitly conformed nor denied by Nintendo itself, fans have noted that all references to Shiver thus far have conspicuously refrained from mentioning her gender or using gender-specific references. I hope Nintendo confirms that she’s a girl, because I don’t that gender nonsense in Splatoon, let alone any game. I don’t want this to be the end of my beloved Nintendo. Shiver

A similar occurrence occurred in Xenoblade 3 with a side character and people using they/them to describe her. I just chalked it up as typical Twitter though and convinced myself that the game isn’t woke.

Yes, I know about Juniper from Xenoblade Chronicles 3 that uses they/them pronouns and is voiced by a they/them. It still creeps me out that Nintendo is going down this path.

At least it’s minor characters so far, but I hope my favorite series like Splatoon or Xenoblade don’t get ruined by woke nonsense in the future.

Just don’t know why Nintendo is keeping Shiver’s gender a secret!
