But then in the last 10 years or so CGI has fallen behind the tech. Why?
Corporate greed, Cost Cutting and Scheduling.
My take is they’re rushing to get as much movies out to market as possible and sacrificing production quality to keep costs down. Look at some of those recent Marvel releases, it’s not only CGI that’s suffering — the writing is poor and some of the costumes (*cough* Iron Heart *cough*) are atrocious.
I recently re-watched Transformers (2007) and that movie had a good story and CGI which is still holds up today. Yeah, they could made it about 30 mins shorter by cutting out all of the stupid, irrelevant comedy sequences and it would still be good.
It’s the best of all the Transformers movies in my opinion.
