i had a whole thing typedout, then the forum decided i wasnt logged in after i hit submit. oh well heres what i remember typing.

UK isnt as big as it thinks it is, Activison and Microsoft are American based companies so UK can piss up a rope.
If microsoft has to pull the game pass for a little while from UK they will. Game pass is great for gamers. Its cheaper, easier to use and you dont have to hunt down a console to play it.

The article explains the scenario in which only the UK blocks it. It alone would not stop the merger there would just be different things available in the UK vs other places.  Although I think they did mention there are forces in the US trying to block it as well.  Like anything else, we just have to see how it plays out.

Yeah the FCC thinks its their job to get involved anytime someone trys to buy anything now days. The purchase is legal, this isnt Mcdonalds buying Burger king which would put their market share over 60%. Its a company acquiring another game studio. Microsoft and sony have been buying companies for years now. Activison-Blizzard is just another one to be acquired. Its not a merger its a buy out. They get mad and saber rattle a little bit, but theres no way to claim “national security risk” or “lose of American interests” since Blizzard shut down their Chinese version of WoW. and both companies are American so its not being sold over seas. Sony a Japanese based company with American offices threw a fit and made a complaint about it. Knowing that adding Activison to the game pass would make PS NOW worthless and they know it.
