Jenny Slate for New Netflix show.  And Mike Henry voice of Cleveland Brown.  Family Guy.

Kristen Bell also gave up her role voicing a mixed-race character on a cartoon named Central Park. Let that sink in. A white woman claims it isn’t fair to voice a cartoon character that is half-white. That begs the question, why is it more fair for a black voice-over actor to do it?

The Simpsons have also decided to not allow any white actors to voice non-white characters. All while having used a female to voice Bart Simpson since their creation. They don’t appear to be changing that. Notice all of this “equality” only goes one way.

For employees deciding to quit, for any reason: I don’t care.   People quit jobs for stupid reasons all the time. Sometimes the stated reason for quitting is just an excuse to cover for other reasons.   As long as what they do for a living is legal and as long as they aren’t relying on tax dollars to support themselves and their families, their decision to quit is their prerogative, imo.

For employers with race/gender/sexual-orientation-selective hiring practices:   I support the right of private businesses to hire whomever they want; I also support their right to NOT hire whomever they don’t want.    However, their market may respond to their hiring decisions in unpredictable ways; consumers can be very fickle.

Honestly I think this will stop after the election. But it’s stupid they don’t understand that this is acting you don’t have to look and be exactly like the character that you’re portraying.

My guess they were roles they were wanting out of anyway and this was the perfect way to do it and look like they were doing a good deed.
And, of course, the studio wouldn’t fight them over, even if they are under contract.
Empty gesture for woke points, in my opinion.
Seriously, whose actually watching any of those shows.
Hell, I thought the cancelled The Cleveland Show years ago. haha

Using their logic, Neal Patrick Harris should not have played Barney Stinson on “How I met your mother”.  But I can’t think of anyone who would have played it better.  He was awesome at a role that was very different from himself.
