I’ve never not used Ad Blocker. I’ve only ever had to watch a few ads on YouTube when I had a smart TV and was running YouTube from the TV directly and not through a connected device. I donate to YouTubers I like – I give about $100 a month to streamers and even if I didn’t they have a lot more money than me. Monetization creates crappy, repetitive content that’s censored and 10 minutes long whether it’s worth watching for ten minutes or not, and I don’t want to support that culture. I’m doing OK financially and if I ever created a channel it would not be monetized and it most likely wouldn’t be on YouTube.

Honestly I Don’t know how anyone can watch youtube without one. The frequency and length and annoyance factor of their ads is just beyond measure.

i think all youtubers with established following should completely turn off monetization and just rely on their patrons and merch sales.
Everyone who preaches against youtube at every corner but still has monetization and do everything in the book to play for the algorithm seems like a giant hypocrite.

The problem is that YouTube bans demonetized channels because they don’t want them wasting their bandwidth and taking viewers away from their monetized channels. They don’t even provide a reason for why they ban channels with no warning but the reason is obvious.

Of course I’m gonna use a ad-blocker when watching YouTube. I also have YouTube Vanced on my phone, which never let’s ADs play, and I can connect my phone to my 55′ inch TV, watch YT there, never worry about ADs.

It’s a must for me, because when I’m enjoying a video, the last thing I need is some random ad for say, Grubhub, interrupting it. When listening to my Gametunes list, I never worry about some ad stopping the flow of the music. Also when I’m playing catchy cute videos for my near-two-year-old, why would she suddenly stop dancing to be forced to see a stupid ad for Gieco?

Oh by the way, I know for certain the ads in October is gonna be anti-orange man and Biden B.S., so yeah, not getting of uBlock Origin anytime soon.

I’ll check out that Vanced app – I’ve been using TubeMate to avoid ads on my phone. TubeMate also lets you play a video or audio in the background and to download videos/MP3s.
