So I havent seen the new black adam movie yet but ive listened to enough reviews on it to understand the general plot and idea they were going with. One of the things i keep hearing is how much every one loved Doctor Fate. Why? If its just because of who played his host i can understand a little bit, but Doctor Fate is a horrible infestation on the DC Universe. From the beginning of his life as Nabu, Son of Vandal Savage he died fighting on the side of Chaos. He was brought back as a lord of order and bound to his helmet. However he is a pretty awful dude. He is petty, requires bribes to release Children from being forced to be his host. yes Kent Nelson is a pretty cool dude and did alot of good for the JSA. However afterwards Nabu becomes a real prick, and its implied several times that he was a prick to every host. Keep in mind that word. HOST. Nabu is a parasite, little more than an infection that steals the life of the person he holds hostage. They feel pain, they are trapped from moving on, and not all of his Hosts are willing. They tried to recently include some bullshit rotation thing were he switches off, but thats because no one wanted to call someone who took a father as a slave host to free his daughter from a lifetime of being a literal slave, a Hero. His latest appearances he has to be bribed or threaten to even help out if he doesnt want to, and even then he doesnt care and lets people die.

Now ive never dove deep into his solo works, or the JSA in recent years, so maybe someone can enlighten me on why he is so beloved. Any Young Justice readers, / Watchers i know hate his fucking guts.
