I clicked this thread expecting a Jordan Peterson video, actually. Man is an eloquent legend.

I’ve been thinking on the reasoning behind collectivism – The idea that the best way to elevate people is by putting them into groups and promoting their shared interest. But we’ve long seen the consequences with such lines of thinking: It divides people and makes them hate each other, and tricks them into thinking life is some twisted competition based on immutable characteristics we were born with and can’t help.

I think your roots do matter, to a point: There are ties between ethnicity and culture (which can be observed through the differences in our art and architecture), and there are male and female brains which account for men and women thinking and behaving differently: There’s nothing wrong with having a bit of pride in what you are and where you come from, the issue is that the Left is using that as the sole basis for merit and achievement. Human beings are not rigidly inflexible from the moment of our birth: We’re a very adaptable species with thousands of years of history of overcoming adversity. We should be finding a balance between celebrating our differences while also observing our common humanity.

Oh, yeah, quick addendum while I’m on this line of thought: SJW’s and their ilk have a complete lack of capacity for forgiveness. They don’t have compassion where it counts. It’s what’s breeding such a hostile environment.
