New King’s Man Trailer Arrives Online

We’re finally about to discover the origins of the organization that gave us Eggsy Unwin and Harry Hart, as the new trailer for The King’s Man has arrived online. The King’s Man trailer opens as Rhys Ifans’ Rasputin and his henchmen plot to cause chaos, proclaiming that World War I will not be a war of heroes and that nations will burn. This is something Harris Dickinson’s Conrad can’t let stand, insisting to Ralph Fiennes’s Duke of Oxford that they join the fight. From there, we see the Kingsman tailor shop, and everyone putting on their suits for the first time as a voiceover from Fiennes tells the audience that they are the first independent intelligence agency. Amid a bunch of insane action and Gemma Arterton’s quips, the King’s Man trailer climaxes with the Duke running out of weapons.

This is one franchise that, despite the less-than-stellar reviews for Kingsman: The Golden Circle, I think has a lot of life left in it, and this King’s Man trailer is proof of that. From Matthew Vaughn’s signature style to the use of Edwin Starr’s “War” throughout, there’s something for everyone in this trailer. I’m particularly jazzed to see Gemma Arterton, who plays Polly. I’ve been a big fan of hers since Prince of Persia and Clash of the Titans. She hasn’t gotten a lot of high-profile work since, so here’s hoping that changes after this film. In addition, while I hated that they pushed it back multiple times, I’m glad Disney has enough confidence to keep it in theaters rather than shunt it to Disney+ a la Artemis Fowl. I can’t wait to check out The King’s Man when it opens on September 18th!

Are you ready for this much-delayed film to see the light of day, or is The King’s Man yet another unnecessary prequel? Could this be a new start for the franchise? Let us know in the comments and stay safe and healthy as Geeks + Gamers continues to bring you more movie and TV news!
