TMNT Mutant Mayhem Sequel, Spin-off Coming

A Variety exclusive revealed today that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem already has a sequel and a spin-off series in the works at Nickelodeon Pictures and Paramount. The two-season TV show, which will be titled Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, will bridge the two films and will air on Paramount+; Chris Yost and Alan Wan, the latter of whom directed some episodes of the 2012 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show, will serve as showrunners. Jeff Rowe, the director of Mutant Mayhem, will return to direct the sequel. Check out a quote from Paramount and Nickelodeon chief Brian Robbins:

“In the nearly 40 years since ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ launched into the zeitgeist, it has entertained generations of fans and only continues to grow. We are excited to grow TMNT’s legacy in partnership with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg at Point Grey, and Jeff Rowe, who are innovating the franchise with their singular brand of humor and elevated storytelling for audiences everywhere, across virtually every platform.”

This isn’t all that surprising, as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is predicted to have a box office total of $105-$145 domestically on a $70-$80 million budget. I’m looking forward to the first movie, but of course, I don’t know what to expect from supplemental material until we see that.

But what do you think? Let us know in the comments!
