I have wanted to be a writer since I was a kid, and have been writing on and off since child school (am not American, so dunno what it is called there). But I wanted to know if this is a place that I can show off chapters in my own book to get feedback or if I am barking up the wrong tree. I am sure there are tons of other sites I could visit for that, but I have a huge respect for the Geeks + Gamers youtube channel, so I figured I would ask.
You probably could get some good critics from Spacebattles or Sufficient Velocity boards if you ask around. There’s also several other authors who have published their works.
I sold a shot story once, got 5 bucks for it. I look back at it now and shudder, it was pretty amateur, which I still am. I have another written with a female lead, but it needs to be re-written, and I’m working on another with the character in the story I sold. To be honest with you , I was totally shocked when the online magazine I sent my story to, actually liked it.
I have a story that is a sequel to everything. I’m sure I left something out, but… rather than force people to read it, I decided I will photograph the whole
thing, utilizing action figures of all the franchises. (Almost all). It took a year to write. It includes as much as possible, and rather than attempt to tie
everything together and further it all in some pretentious way, I tie everything together in a pretentious way that returns all our franchises back to the way they were….

You post yours and I’ll post mine. Getting feedback does help but don’t rely on it. Sometimes feedback won’t quite matter if its critiquing something that wont be fully explained/revealed until later in the book.
