TV is awful now.

From commercials, to shows, to movies … TV is absolutely awful.  Social justice nonsense has literally ruined all entertainment and it is only getting worse.  This is my little rant for the day.

I have hundreds of channels and there is literally nothing to watch unless you want to watch classic shows and sitcoms.

I found that once “reality” TV became a thing, it was then a race to the bottom.

I cut the chord. I have no Netflix. I have no TV. In youth, I watched too much to the point that I never want to see it again. I never want to watch the NFL again. Never the NBA. Never boxing. Just too much, too early. Too many sports.

The only thing I watch is youtube and I prefer to see people, like Laura Farms channel or families. Usually, I like those channels with a couple building a house in nature.

The only thing I was curious about was to see if there was any Christian reaction the the new horror TV series called Midnight Mass because I wanted to know if it’s your typical blasphemous thing.

Midnight Mass tells the tale of a small, isolated island community whose existing divisions are amplified by the return of a disgraced young man and the arrival of a charismatic priest. When Father Paul’s appearance on Crockett Island coincides with unexplained and seemingly miraculous events, a renewed religious fervor takes hold of the community – but do these miracles come at a price?

From the producers of The Haunting of Hill House, MIDNIGHT MASS introduces Crockett Island, an isolated island community that experiences miraculous events – and frightening omens – following the arrival of a charismatic, mysterious young priest.

Last thing, but in college, I had a roommate who liked Howard Stern and Jim Rome, so I go hooked on talk radio. After that, I listened to Michael Savage and Phil Hendrie. Much, much later, I found Alex Jones and felt a sense of arrival. I would like shows and stuff, but they don’t take on the seen world. The seen world is dominated completely by lying news propaganda and celebrity worship idolatry and really bad music. There was rarely any alternative shown. The things I like most are truthers that say the things that you cannot say, but that you know are right. Woke is the exact opposite of that.

Anything that looks decent always ends up on some Sky channel, Disney+ or Netflix so I just stick to dvd’s and blue-rays. Or YouTube. I’m not much of a TV watcher and never have been other than Saturday/Sunday morning cartoons when I was a kid. Anything that I do watch on the normal TV is repeats of ‘You’ve Been Framed’ which is the UK equivalent of ‘America’s Funniest Home Videos’.

I too had cut my cable two decades ago.

For awhile I had satelite, but I cut it after less than five years.  How can you be subscribed to all regional sports stations in north america and STILL get regional blackouts? ! ?

I refuse to do PPV, or pay extra for streaming services.

I too am a big physical media (DVD) customer.  The fact so many are now on-line and being censored or can be pulled without notice, is BS.

So yes, tv is mostly awful, as is hollywood.

I have not had regular TV in over a decade. I do have a few streaming services (I just killed Netflix and Disney) but I get no commercials and I only watch old stuff. And I have my own huge media collection of again, mostly older stuff.

To me it seems around 2010 they went full propaganda on TV and especially movies. Everything since then (with few exceptions) is hot garbage.

Like you guys, the people around me have no services anymore and rely on DVD per-screened programming. A lot of Hallmark channel movies. For me, I do not need it because I view so much on computer. For every show ruined, there is someone online doing videos. They ruined Dancing With The Stars, so I just watch actual ballroom dancers out of Europe and they are fantastic. I also like watching shooting, archery, fencing, and tech and construction stuff.

Plus, there are too many books out there and not enough time to read them all. Whenever I am really down, if I pick up a book, it’s like the Metaverse and I’m there. Some will say that books are boring, well then, you will catch up on needed sleep. At this point, I prefer books, because I do not often see pretty people on screen anymore. I want to see beauty on women and strength on men. If Hollywood cannot deliver, I know where I can buy used books for a quarter each and even some of those little kiosks where books are free.

        @comicsgate

Damn fine points. We should all heed those. I think I will pick up a new book because of your advice. I was already kicking around getting that “Google Leaks” onc. Thank you.

I found this site through a post about this.  https://www.geeksandgamers.com/topic/current-tv-shows-worth-watching/

I would also add Longmire to the list and I’m watching a show called Loudermilk that seems to be pretty good.  Only half way through the first season but I don’t forsee any SJW nonsense.
