Cursed Trailer Arrives Online

Arthurian legends are about to get a new look, as the first trailer for the upcoming Netflix series Cursed has arrived online. The Cursed trailer opens on Nimue, who explains via voiceover how her kind was attacked for having magic and possessing Excalibur, which, of course, others want. The trailer culminates in Nimue fighting with the legendary weapon and postulating what would happen if, rather than choosing a king, the sword chooses a queen. Check out the Cursed trailer below:
Ever since Merlin and Camelot ended, I wondered when we would get a new iteration of this well-worn mythology, Guy Ritchie’s film King Arthur: Legend of the Sword being less than stellar. When I found out that this adaptation was in development, I was intrigued, as we’ve never really seen the spotlight put on Nimue before, with things usually toggling between Arthur and Merlin in a myriad of iterations. After having seen her in 13 Reasons Why, I was interested in seeing Katherine Langford take part in a genre piece for her next Netflix project, especially after she was cut out of Avengers: Endgame last year. Whenever the Lady of the Lake is talked about, she’s all too often portrayed as though she is merely a conduit for the destiny of others. In addition, the idea that the source material comes from creatives like Frank Miller and Tom Wheeler, both of whom have extensive experience in the industry, is incredibly exciting and one of the more interesting team-ups to come out of comics. In Miller, you have someone who is known for a variety of revisionist takes on well-known icons, and I’m excited to see his vision come to the screen again here. As for Wheeler, I’ve been following his work since the short-lived superhero series The Cape and his fantastic pilot script Captain Cook’s Extraordinary Atlas, so I’m excited to see more of his work on screen. I’ll definitely be checking out Cursed when it debuts on July 17th on Netflix.

I would take it with a grain of salt but I stay cautiously optimistic and slightly open to such news
Meh, take it or leave it. We’ve been doing the Arthurian legends and variations thereof for literally centuries, I’m over it by now. Not to say that I don’t think it won’t be good, just not my cup of tea.
I’d much rather they had created something entirely new than rewrite the Legend of Arthur,.. just tired of it all.. But, if the show’s good, fine, hope everyone enjoys it if it’s interesting to you.. it’s just not for me.. At least so far.. but I’ll try and keep an open mind about it.
if they could stop bringing 2020 politics into 16th europeen fantasy, it could actually be good, but thats to much to ask for
Just watched the trailers, looks like a strong woman/toxic white male with legendary character replaced by black actors……will give it a try but ‘I have a bad feeling about it’……
I loved the book, so I’m very intrigued to see what they do with this. Hopefully, #FingersCrossed, they keep the virtue-signaling and SJWism to a minimum. But as far as the trailer is concerned – yeah, it’s badass.
