Fargo Season 5 Trailer Hunts Down Fall TV

Practice your manners, and don’t plan on fleeing any interviews because FX has released a trailer for the fifth season of Fargo. Season 5 of the anthology series, a sort of spin-off of the classic film from the Coen Brothers, revolves around a Midwestern housewife named Dot with a secret past, an old-fashioned lawman who’s hunting her, and her mother-in-law’s attempt to use her debt collection agency to protect her. Fargo season 5 stars Juno Temple, Jon Hamm, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Dave Foley, Joe Keery, Lamorne Morris, Richa Moorjani, and David Rysdahl. The new season begins airing on FX on November 21, 2023, and you can see the trailer below:

I’m surprised by how much I like this series. Fargo is my favorite Coen Brothers movie, which automatically makes it one of my favorite movies in general, and turning it into a TV show seemed like an awful idea. But that first season was outstanding; the second was great too (outside of one awful episode, or at least one awful scene that ruined an episode), as was season 3. I still need to watch season 4, which fell by the wayside for me. Making the show a different story with new characters and a similar tone was the key to making it work because it doesn’t cheapen the film. And season 5 looks good so far; I like Jon Hamm as the cowboy hunting for someone who seems to be an ordinary housewife, and all the complications that will undoubtedly arise. Dave Foley in a Coenesque setting is the kind of thing you’ve never thought of, but when it’s suggested, you don’t know how you ever lived without it. It reminds me of how Nick Offerman popped up in season 2. (“Out of my way, tool of the state!”) I’ll have to make season 4 a priority because this should make a nice reward after Loki ends.
